COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A ROAD THROUGH SECTIONS 213, 214, E. 215, 288, AND N.E. AND S.E. 289, PUKEATUA PARISH, BLOCKS XV, WAIWERA, AND III, WAITEMATA SURVEY DISTRICTS.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, and amendments, by the Waitemata County Council to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road through Sections 213, 214, East 215, 288, and N.E. and S.E. 289, Pukeatua Parish, Blocks XV, Waiwera, and III, Waitemata Survey Districts; and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the said road, and of the land so required to be taken, is deposited for public inspection at the office of the Waitemata County Council, Empire Buildings, Swanson Street, Auckland. And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of such public work or the taking of such land shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said County Council office, Auckland.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned, STANLEY HARRIS and HARRISON STEEL SMITHSON, carrying on business at High Street, Christchurch, under the style of “E. Hewish & Co.,” was on the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, dissolved by mutual consent so far as regards the said Harrison Steel Smithson, who retires from the firm. All debts due by the firm will be paid by the said STANLEY HARRIS, to whom all accounts owing are to be paid.

BOROUGH OF QUEENSTOWN.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Council of the Borough of Queenstown, at a special meeting of the said Council held at the Council Chambers, Queenstown, on the 2nd day of April, 1914, hereby resolves as follows :—

To raise a loan of £1,300, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of paying off the sum of £1,300, being part of a special loan of £3,500 heretofore lawfully raised by the Queenstown Borough Council, of which the sum of £1,500 was paid off on the 1st day of April, 1904, and the balance of £2,000 becomes due on the 1st day of April, 1914, the whole of such loan of £3,500 having been secured by thirty-five debentures of £100 each, charged on a special rate of 1s. in the pound sterling on the annual value of all rateable property within the Borough of Queenstown; and doth further resolve that such loan of £1,300 be raised for a term of twenty years from the 1st day of April, 1914, and do carry interest at the rate of £5 per centum per annum, with provision for a sinking fund of £43 13s. 2d. per annum, payable by equal half-yearly instalments of £21 16s. 7d. on the 1st days of April and October during the currency of such loan, the first instalment being payable on the 1st day of October, 1914, and the last on the 1st day of April, 1934; and doth further resolve that such new loan of £1,300, and the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in respect thereof, be charged upon and be secured by a special rate of 6d. in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Queenstown, and on the rents, profits, and other income derivable from and payable in respect of the following parcels of land, being endowments of the said borough, to wit :—
