RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.
RANGIRIRI BRIDGE LOAN OF £4,500.—RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE OVER RANGIRIRI BRIDGE SPECIAL RATING DISTRICT AS SECURITY FOR ABOVE LOAN.
Moved by Councillor McKinnon.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in particular by section 15 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and by section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 22nd day of December, 1913, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor under the provisions of the said section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500), authorized to be raised by the said Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying the Council’s share of the cost of the erection of the Rangiriri Bridge, the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Rangiriri Bridge Special Rating District, commencing at the Waikato River at the northern corner of Section 4 of Block XIII, Maramarua Survey District ; and thence running south along the western boundaries of Sections 4, 9, and 10 to the southern boundary of Section 7 ; thence north and west along the southern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, Opuatia No. 3B, Opuatia No. 4, Opuatia No. 4 No. 48, Opuatia No. 5C, to the north-eastern boundary of Section 90 ; thence south and west along the eastern and southern boundaries of Section 90 to the south-eastern boundary of Section 101 ; thence south and west along the eastern and southern boundaries of Sections 101 and 102 to the north-eastern boundary of Section 107 ; thence south and west along the eastern and southern boundaries of Sections 107 and 119A to the south-western corner of Section 119A ; thence south along the eastern boundaries of Sections Te Akau B 24, B 28, and B No. 18 to the south-eastern corner of Section B No. 18 ; thence west and south along the southern boundary of Te Akau B 18 and the eastern boundary of Te Akau B No. 29 to the south-eastern boundary of Section Te Akau B No. 29 at its junction with the north-western corner of Section 1 of Block IX, Awaroa ; thence along the western and southern boundaries of Section 1 of IX to the south-eastern corner of same section ; thence south along the western boundaries of Section 1 of Block XIV, Awaroa, and B No. 14, Te Akau, to the south-eastern corner of Section B No. 14, Te Akau ; thence south along the western boundary of Section 7 of Block XIV, Awaroa, to the south-western corner of same section ; thence north along the southern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5 of Block XIV to the south-eastern corner of Section 5 ; thence north along the eastern boundary of Section 5 to the south-western corner of Section 148 ; thence running east and north along the southern boundaries of Sections 148, 71, 93, 144, 88, 87, 89 to the south-eastern corner of Section 89 ; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 116 and 115 to the south-western boundary of Section 115 ; thence east and north along the southern boundaries of Sections 115, 125, 130, Village Reserve, 1, 3, 14, 15, 11, 14, 2, 1, and Section part 61 to the Waikato River ; thence following the western bank of the Waikato River to the point of commencement : and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Seconded by Councillor Watson, and carried.
The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Raglan County Council held at Ngaruawahia on the 14th day of January, 1914.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £400.—COOK ROAD.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £400, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of re-forming, widening, and metalling Cook Road from the Vinegar Hill Road to the north-east boundary of Section 4, Rangatira Block, Block VII, Ongo Survey District, being a distance of about 1¼ miles, and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny (7/16d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Cook Road Special Rating District as shown on the plan annexed to the ratepayers’ consent to such loan, and thereon bordered red, and comprising all that area situate within the County of Rangitikei, and bounded as follows : Commencing at a point on the west bank of the Rangitikei River at the south-east corner of Section 4, Rangatira Block, in Block VII, Ongo Survey District ; thence in a north-westerly direction by the south-west boundary of the said Section 4 to its south-west corner ; thence in a north-easterly direction by the north-west boundary of the said Section 4 to the south-east corner of Subdivision 3 of Section 21, Block VII, Ongo Survey District ; thence by a right line in a northerly direction through the said subdivision to a point on the Vinegar Hill Road so as to leave an area of 152 acres and 22·5 perches of the said subdivision on the eastern side of the said right line ; thence in an easterly direction by the Vinegar Hill Road to its junction with the Hau Hau Road ; thence in a south-easterly direction by the Hau Hau Road to its intersection with the Hau Hau Stream, which forms a portion of the north-east boundary of Section 2 of the Otairi Land Settlement Association Block ; thence generally in a southerly direction by the said stream to the Rangitikei River, and by the west bank of the said river to point of commencement. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off ; the interest and repayment on such loan being, together, at the rate of £5 12s. 2d. per centum per annum.
It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the 20th day of December, 1913.

BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the New Plymouth Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
(a.) That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £4,100, authorized to be raised by the New Plymouth Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act and the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and the amendments thereof respectively, for providing the contribution required from the said Council by the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for the erection of a new hospital, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of New Plymouth ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four years or until the loan is fully paid off.
(b.) That the said Council hereby appropriates and pledges the said special rate as security for the repayment of the said loan and the interest thereon.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the New Plymouth Borough Council on Monday, the 12th day of January, 1914.
