I HEREBY give notice that under a deed of assignment dated this 18th day of December, 1913, I have become the sole trustee of the above-named Robert Allan Mitchell’s estate for the benefit of all creditors.

Creditors are requested to forward their claims to my office, Wyndham Street, Auckland, on or before the 18th day of February, 1914. Claims not received by that date will not be recognized.

In the matter of the Town Boards Act, 1908, and the Rating Act, 1908.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 23rd day of December, 1913, a proposal was submitted by the Te Awamutu Town Board to the ratepayers within the Te Awamutu Town District:—

“That henceforth the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof be adopted in the Te Awamutu Town District.”

The votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal were as follows: For, 54; against, 133; informal, 7.

I therefore declare the proposal rejected.

TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Te Awamutu Town District taken on the 23rd day of December, 1913, on the proposal of the Te Awamutu Town Board to borrow the sum of £8,000 to purchase and construct works, lines, and appliances for the supply of electricity and electric lighting, including all necessary land, buildings, machinery, plant, and materials.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 103; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 78; informal, 8.

I therefore declare the proposal rejected.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and their respective amendments.

WE, WILLIAM PLOWMAN, of Napier, Deputy Mayor of Napier, and ARTHUR WARD LASCELLES, of Napier, Returning Officer, hereby give notice that on the 2nd day of December, 1913, a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Napier was duly held and taken on the proposal of the Council of the said Borough to raise a special loan of £16,000 for the following purposes, the amount applicable to each purpose being set opposite the statement of each such purpose respectively, namely,—

(1.) The completion of the construction and installation of works for electric lighting and power and electric tramways now in progress in the Borough of Napier, or any one or more of those objects .. .. .. £7,200

(2.) The construction and installation of new works for electric lighting and power and electric tramways (by way of extension or addition to the last mentioned works, but not by way of extension of the present tramway tracks), or any one or more of those objects .. .. .. 7,700

(3.) The construction and equipment of public sanitary conveniences in the Borough of Napier .. 1,100

£16,000

and that at such poll the number of votes recorded was as follows: For the proposal, 182; against the proposal, 36; majority for the proposal, 146; informal, 3.

Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be carried.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Local Bodies Act, 1908, and their respective amendments, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £16,000, authorized to be raised by the said Napier Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purposes, the amount applicable to each such purpose being set opposite the statement of such purpose respectively, namely,—

(1.) The completion of the construction and installation of works for electric lighting and power of electric tramways now in progress in the Borough of Napier, or any one or more of those objects .. .. .. £7,200

(2.) The construction and installation of new works for electric lighting and power and electric tramways (by way of extension or addition to the last-mentioned works, but not by way of extension of the present tramway tracks), or any one or more of those objects .. .. .. 7,700

(3.) The construction and equipment of public sanitary conveniences in the Borough of Napier 1,100

£16,000

the said Napier Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and seven-eighths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Napier, comprising the whole of the said borough; and that such special rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-one years, or thereabouts—that is to say, until the 30th day of June, 1944—or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution duly passed by the Napier Borough Council at a meeting of the said Council held on the 19th day of December, 1913.
