CITY OF AUCKLAND.

THE LOCAL BODIES' LOANS ACT, 1913.

I HEREBY give notice that the result of the poll of rate-
players of the City of Auckland taken at Auckland on
Thursday, the 26th day of March, 1914, on the proposal of
the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland
to raise a special loan of £80,000 for the execution of drainage-
works in the City of Auckland, including particularly the
following:-

  1. The connection of existing sewers in the City of Auckland
    to the main and branch sewers of the Auckland
    and Suburban Drainage Board;

  2. The reticulation of the low-level areas of the City of
    Auckland to the proposed various pumping-stations
    of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board;

  3. To make provision for relaying and renewing existing
    and defective sewers in the City of Auckland,
    is as follows:

Number of votes recorded for the proposal.. 1,167
Number of votes recorded against the pro-
posa .. 212

Majority for the proposal .. 955

And I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

CITY OF AUCKLAND.

THE LOCAL BODIES' LOANS ACT, 1913.

I HEREBY give notice that the result of the poll of rate-
payers of the City of Auckland taken at Auckland on
Thursday, the 26th day of March, 1914, on the proposal of
the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland
to raise a special loan of £15,000 for the acquisition and
improvement of the late Mrs. Gillies' property, being Sub-
divisions A, B, and C of Lot 5, and portions of Lots 1 and 4,
Section 2, Suburbs of Auckland, containing 9½ acres, more
or less, as a public park, is as follows:-

Number of votes recorded for the proposal .. 815
Number of votes recorded against the proposal 575

Majority for the proposal .. 240

And I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

Thursday, the 26th day of March, 1914, on the proposal of
the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland
to raise a special loan of £4,000 for the purpose of extending
the Art Gallery, in Coburg Street, in the City of Auckland,
is as follows:-

Number of votes recorded for the proposal .. 927
Number of votes recorded against the proposal 440

Majority for the proposal .. 487

And I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

payers of the City of Auckland taken at Auckland on
Thursday, the 26th day of March, 1914, on the proposal of
the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Auckland
to raise a special loan of £13,000 for the purpose of erecting
a Municipal Depot, including workshops, offices, stores, sheds,

house for stable foreman, and stables, in the City of Auckland,
is as follows :-

Number of votes recorded for the proposal.. 1,042
Number of votes recorded against the pro-
posa .. 322

Majority for the proposal .. 720

And I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.

APPLICATION TO ALTER COURSE OF WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, holden at
Clyde.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned,
the Earnscleugh Gold-dredging Company (Limited), of
Alexandra, Miner, hereby applies to alter the course of water-
race held under license dated the 12th day of May, 1900, and
registered in the office of the Mining Registrar at Clyde as
No. 389c, the course of such alteration having been first
marked out for the purpose.

Date and No. of Miner's Right : 9th March, 1914 ; 99160.
Address for service : Care of W. A. Bodkin, Solicitor,
Alexandra.

Dated at Alexandra this 24th day of March, 1914.

Description of the Suggested Alteration of Course.

Commencing at a point in the said water-race where the
same enters the lease-in-perpetuity land held by Mr. Poole
and running in a westerly direction for a distance of 1 chain;
thence at right angles and running in a southerly direction
close to and parallel with the race held by the Commissioner
of Crown Lands, and known as "The Settlers' Race," through
Mr. Poole's property and through the land held by Mr.
Andrew Iversen until it meets the road leading to the fruit-
settlement; thence across the said road and running in a
south-easterly direction for a distance of about 15 chains
into the original course of the said race: as the same is more
particularly shown on the plan filed with this application.

Total length of alteration of course applied for: 1,056
yards.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Six months; £50.
Precise time of marking out: 3 p.m., 15th March, 1914.
Signature of applicant: The Earnscleugh Gold-dredging
Company (Limited), (by its Solicitor, W. A. Bodkin).
Precise time of filing the foregoing application: 10 a.m.,
25th March, 1914.

Time and place appointed for the hearing of the application
and all objections thereto: Tuesday, 5th May, 1914, at
11 a.m., at Warden's Court, Clyde.

Objections must be filed in the Registrar's office, and
notified to applicant at least three days before the day so
appointed.

NOTICE is hereby given that the situation of the office
or place of business in New Zealand of the above-
mentioned company, where process of any kind may be
served upon it, is at the offices of the New Zealand Mines
Trust (1905), (Limited), 60 and 62 Shortland Street, in the
City of Auckland.
