value of all rateable property of the Borough of Napier,
comprising the whole of the said Borough; and that such
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and to be payable yearly on the first
day of August in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of 31 years, or thereabouts—that
is to say, till the 30th day of June, 1944, or until the loan is
fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was passed in pursuance of the
Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, at a meeting of the Napier
Borough Council held on the 25th day of March, 1914.

HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SPECIAL LOAN OF £68,250. — RESOLUTION MAKING AND

LEVVYING A SPECIAL RATE OF 1²D. IN THE POUND.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a loan of £68,250, authorized to
be raised by the Hastings Borough Council, under the above-
mentioned Act and under the Municipal Corporations Act,
1908, and its amendments, to be expended in the construction
and provision of the following works and things—
(1.) Streets-improvement, footpaths, street-making, ma-
chinery and buildings, plant, and contingencies,
£30,675;
(2.) Water-extensions and contingencies, £12,000;
(3.) Sewer-extensions and contingencies, £13,400;
(4.) Electric-light extensions and contingencies, £8,925:
total, £65,000;
The cost of raising the loan and the interest for the
first year, £3,250 : total, £68,250--
the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of 1½d. in the pound on the rateable value on
the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in
the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole of the said
Borough ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
yearly on the first day of May in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years
and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly
passed this twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen, as provided by section 20 of the Local
Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE OF 17/32D. IN THE POUND.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund,
and other charges on a loan of £29,300, authorized to be
raised by the Hastings Borough Council, under the above-
mentioned Act, and under the Municipal Corporations Act,
1908, and its amendments, to be expended in the erection of
the following buildings, &c.--
Municipal Theatre fronting Hastings Street ; offices fronting
Hastings and Heretaunga Streets ; shops, hall, &c.,
fronting Heretaunga Street, £27,500:
Cost of raising the loan and the interest for the first year,
£1,800 : total, £29,300--
the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of 17/32d. in the pound on the rateable value
on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property
in the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole of the said
borough, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the first day of May in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and
a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly

ELTHAM COUNTY COUNCIL.

PATEA BRIDGE LOAN.—SPECIAL ORDER MAKING SPECIAL

RATE AS SECURITY FOR LOAN.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, the Eltham County Council hereby resolves as follows :
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of one thousand pounds, authorized to be
raised by the Eltham County Council, under section 24 of the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erection of a ferro-
concrete bridge exceeding 30 ft. in span across the Patea
River, on the Rawhitiroa Road, between the Eltham and
Omona Ridings of the County of Eltham, the said Eltham
County Council hereby makes and levies (1) a special rate, to
be called a “bridge rate,” of 1/36th of 1d. in the pound upon
the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all the
rateable property in the Eltham Riding aforesaid, and (2) a
special rate, to be called a “bridge rate,” of 1/14th of 1d. in
the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital
value) of all the rateable property in the Omona Riding
aforesaid as respectively appearing on the Valuation Roll;
and that such respective rates shall be annual-recurring
“bridge rates” during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

CERTIFICATE.

The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting
of the Eltham County Council held on the 14th day of
February, 1914, and confirmed at a special meeting of the
said Council held on the 21st day of March, 1914.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the
members of the above company will be held in my
office, 15 Stock Exchange Buildings, Dunedin, on Friday, the
24th day of April, 1914, at 11 o'clock a.m., for the purpose
of having an account laid before them showing the manner
in which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets
of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explana-
tions which may be given by me as Liquidator; and also of
determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which
the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of
the Liquidator shall be disposed of.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the rate-
payers of that portion of the Wanganui County comprised
in the Parapara Metalling Loan Special-rating District was
taken on the 24th day of March, 1914, on the proposal of
the Wanganui County Council to raise a loan of £2,000 for
the purpose of metalling (a) the unmetalled portion of the
Wanganui-Parapara-Raetihi Road from the Taukoro Stream
northwards to Section 1, Block V, Ngamatea Survey Dis-
trict; (b) to metal the Raupiu Road from the Mangawhero
River to Waipapa Road junction--
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 40.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
