to be raised by the Piako County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the completion and improvements, including the forming, grading, metalling, bridging, and culverting of roads in the Waihou Riding of the County of Piako, the said Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property within the Waihou Riding of the County of Piako; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Dated at Te Aroha, this 18th day of February, 1914.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON LOAN PROPOSAL.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and of the Local Bodies’ Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 25th day of February, 1914, a proposal was submitted by the Waimea County Council to the ratepayers of the Stoke Waterworks Reserve Special-rating Area for raising a special loan of £800 for the purpose of purchasing land for waterworks reserve at Stoke; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal were as follows: For, 37; against, 3.

I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.

BOROUGH OF RANGIORA.

POLL ON PROPOSAL TO ADOPT SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUES.

PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Rangiora taken on the second day of March, 1914, on the proposal that the system of rating in the said borough be on the unimproved value, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 215; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 160.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

[THE PUKEKOHE MILK SUPPLY COMPANY (LIMITED).

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary meeting of shareholders of the Pukekohe Milk Supply Company (Limited) held on the 2nd March, 1914, in the Empire Buildings, Swanson Street, an extraordinary resolution was carried:—

“That it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And a further resolution:—

“That GEORGE EWELL BISSET be appointed Liquidator of the company for the purpose of such winding-up.”

WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Waitemata County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow the sum of £11,855 for the purpose of road-construction and metalling, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan, at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan—namely, £8,855—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £4½ per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves—That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such loan—namely, £8,855—the said Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Waipareira Riding of the County of Waitemata, such area being a legal subdivision; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be made payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution of the above-named Council passed at a special meeting held on the 11th day of February, 1914.

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Hamilton taken on the 26th February, 1914, on the proposal of the Hamilton Borough Council to borrow the sum of £11,000 for the purpose of making and constructing drainage-works in that portion of the Borough of Hamilton, in the Town of Hamilton West, which is situated to the north of the Frankton-Morrinsville Railway, including the purchase of all necessary land and materials, £11,000.
