NOTICE OF FINAL MEETING.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at Messrs. W. B. Chennells and Co.’s office, Perry Street, Masterton, on Wednesday, 11th March, 1914, at 10 o’clock a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidators; and also of determining, by extraordinary resolution, the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidators thereof shall be disposed of.

The following resolution, in the form of a special resolution, will be put before the meeting:—

“That the Liquidators hand over, assign, and transfer to the Directors of the company, who have executed the guarantee to the Bank of New South Wales, or some of them, all the remaining assets of the company, including the amounts owing by one Lars Mattson, on promissory notes or otherwise, in consideration of such Directors taking over the liabilities to the said bank and undertaking to pay the same, and to indemnify the company and the Liquidators therefrom, and releasing the Liquidators and the company from all claims in respect of payments already made to the bank by them; and that the Liquidators be authorized to execute a deed between themselves and the said Directors giving effect to this resolution.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, GEORGE McARTHUR BROWN and FREDERICK WILLIAM BURSILL, carrying on business as Mechanical Engineers and Motor-importers, at Blenheim, under the style or firm of “Brown & Co.,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the fourteenth day of February, 1914.

All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by Mr. EDINGER, of Blenheim, Accountant.

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Marton was taken on the 4th February, 1914, on the proposal of the Marton Borough Council to borrow the sum of £5,000 for the purpose of scarifying, rolling, metalling, asphalting, and culverting streets, also reforming certain footpaths, in the Borough of Marton.

The number of votes recorded for the purpose was 103; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 64.

I hereby declare the proposal was carried.

DARGAVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Dargaville taken on the 28th day of January, 1914, on the proposal of the Dargaville Borough Council to borrow—

(1.) The sum of £3,000 for extending and completing the gas-mains and other works in connection with the gasworks, and repaying to the District Fund Account the amount advanced on account of gasworks-installation.

(2.) The sum of £3,000 for the acquisition of land at Mangawhare for a recreation-ground and for improvements thereto, and for improvements to Mount Wesley Park, Selwyn Park, and the foreshore—

DARGAVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof, the Dargaville Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Dargaville Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for extending and completing the gas-mains and other works in connection with the gasworks, and repaying to the District Fund Account the amount advanced on account of gasworks-installation, the said Dargaville Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Dargaville; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of January and the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly made and passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Dargaville Borough Council held on Tuesday, the 3rd day of February, 1914.

KAWHIA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kawhia County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Kawhia County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening and metalling portion of the Pirongia West Road from the junction of the Okupata Road to Section 1, Block I, Pirongia S.D., the said Kawhia County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Pirongia West Special-rating Area, comprising Sections 1 and 2, Block IV, Kawhia North S.D.; Section 1 and the southern portions of Sections 2 and 3, Block I, Pirongia S.D.; part Section 1 and the northern portions of Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block V, Pirongia S.D.; Section 1 and the northern portions of Sections 2 and 3, Block VIII, Kawhia North S.D.; Pirongia West No. 3B Section 2c No. 4 (part); Pirongia West No. 3B Section 2c No. 5; part of Pirongia West No. 3B Section 2c No. 3 (part); and Pirongia West No. 3B Section 2c No. 2: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 17th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The above resolution was duly passed by the Kawhia County Council at a meeting of the said Council held on the 21st day of February, 1914.
