finally granted the application for such loan, at the rate of 3½ per centum per annum: And whereas the State Advances Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan—namely, £7,660—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £5 12s. 2d. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves—That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such loan—namely, £7,660—the said Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Waitakerei Riding of the County of Waitemata, such area being a legal subdivision; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be made payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution of the above-named Council passed at a special meeting held on the eleventh day of February, 1914.

KIWITEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PARORANGI ROAD LOAN.—SPECIAL ORDER.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Kiwitea County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorized to be raised by the Kiwitea County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing the Parorangi Road from the north-eastern corner of Section 287, Block XIV, Ongo S.D., to Section 25, Block XIV, Ongo S.D., and for trimming and metalling the said Parorangi Road from Section 25, Block XIV, Ongo S.D., in a southerly direction to its junction with Williamson’s Road west, the said Kiwitea County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Parorangi Road Special-rating District, being Sections 28, Block XV, 17, 23, 25, 284–288, Block XIV, Ongo S.D.

Such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first days of February and August in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The cost of raising the loan and the interest for the first year to be paid out of loan.

The above resolution was passed by way of special order on the 20th day of December, 1913, and subsequently confirmed on the 17th day of January, 1914, by the Kiwitea County Council.

MASTERTON COUNTY.

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,600, authorized to be raised by the Masterton County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling the unmetalled portions of the Alfredton–Weber Road, the said Masterton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 59/320ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Alfredton–Weber Road-metalling Loan Special-rating District, comprising all that portion of the County of Masterton, being one continuous area, and contained within the following boundaries, that is to say: Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 55, Block X, Puketoi Survey District, and proceeding in an easterly direction; bounded by Sections 4 and 53, Block IV, by Section 34, Block VII, to the Tiraumea Stream; thence proceeding north-east by the said stream to its intersection with the north-east corner of Section 52, Block VII; thence proceeding north-west by the last-mentioned section and Sections 32 and 53, in the last-mentioned block, by Section 12, by a portion of Saunders Road, and by Section 20, Block VI; thence proceeding north-east by Section 15, E.R., Block II; thence by the Puketoi Road to its intersection with the southernmost corner of Section 24, Block III, by the said Section 24, and by part of Section 27, Block III, to the boundary of the Akitio County; thence proceeding generally southwards by the Akitio and Castle Point Counties to the Waitawhiti Stream at its intersection with the north-east corner of Section 187, Block XI; thence proceeding in a north-westerly direction by the Waitawhiti Stream and the Tiraumea River, to the point where the said river intersects the north-east boundary of Section 135, Block X; thence proceeding southwards by that boundary to the Tiraumea Valley Road, and proceeding westwards by that road to the point where the said road intersects the eastern boundary of Section 153, Block X; thence by Sections 152, 155, 188, and 157, Block X, to the Tiraumea River; and thence by the Tiraumea River and by Section 2, Block X, all in the Puketoi Survey District, to the point of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Passed at a special meeting of the Council this 13th day of January, 1914.

Confirmed this 11th day of February, 1914.

INGLEWOOD BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Extract from the Minutes of Proceedings of the Inglewood Borough Council at a Special Meeting of such Council held on 25th day of February, 1914, at 7.30 p.m.

MOVED by His Worship the Mayor: In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling it, the Inglewood Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the charges on the special loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the said borough, under the above-mentioned Act, for street-improvement purposes, the Inglewood Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 11/32nds of a penny in the pound on the rateable property of the Inglewood Borough Council; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Seconded by Councillor J. Gibbs, and carried.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Inglewood was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Inglewood Borough Council, in the presence of—
