MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

LUCK-AT-LAST ROAD LOAN.—RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the said Council for the purpose of formation on the Luck-at-Last Road, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Luck-at-Last Road Special-rating Area in the Maungatautari Riding within the Matamata County, which comprises all that area commencing at the north-western corner of Section No. 4, No. 763, Pukekura, and following the northern boundary of the said section to the Hauoira Station; thence in a straight easterly direction through No. 2280, part Maungatautari No. 1 of Block XV, Cambridge, to the junction of the Maungatautari and Luck-at-Last Roads; thence in a straight southerly line to the southern boundary of Maungatautari No. 1A, and following the southern boundary in an easterly direction to the intersection with the boundary-line of Block II, Maungatautari; thence in a southerly direction to a point forty chains from the Maungatautari Trig. Station and on the Matamata County boundary-line; thence following the said boundary-line in a north-westerly direction to the Pukekura Trig. Station; thence in a north-easterly direction to the north-west corner of Section No. 4, No. 763, Pukekura, the starting-point: and more particularly delineated on the plan marked “C” with the special area outlined in red. And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off; the rate of interest to be 4½ per cent. (four pounds ten shillings per centum) per annum, exclusive of sinking fund; and the half-yearly instalment in respect of principal and interest to be £2 16s. 1d. for each £100 of the loan. The first year’s interest and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of the loan.

The above resolution was duly passed by the Matamata County Council at its meeting held on the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

MARTINBOROUGH TOWN BOARD.

WHEREAS by resolution made on the 14th day of July, 1913, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette on the 31st day of July, 1913, page 2351, the Martinborough Town Board made and levied a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Town District of Martinborough, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500), authorized to be raised by the said Board by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the purpose of erecting and installing a system of electric light for the Town District of Martinborough: And whereas the said Board has since the date of raising such loan adopted rating on the basis of the unimproved value in lieu of the capital value: And whereas the said loan has proved insufficient for the purpose for which it was raised:

Now, in pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 18 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and section 86 of the Rating Act, 1908, the Martinborough Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the said loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500), and an additional loan of four hundred and fifty pounds (£450), [being 10 per cent. additional on the said loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500), the said loan of £4,500 having proved insufficient as aforesaid], authorized to be raised as aforesaid for the purpose of completing the aforesaid work, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1⅝d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Martinborough Town District (being in lieu of and equivalent to the aforesaid rate of ⅜d. in the pound on the basis of the capital value); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate, and be payable yearly on the first day of August during the currency of such loans, being a period of forty years, or until the said loans are fully paid off.

MAKERUA DRAINAGE BOARD.

SPECIAL DISTRICT No. 5.—LOAN OF £300.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and their amending Acts, the Makerua Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, charges, and sinking fund on the said loan of £300, under the before-mentioned Acts, the Makerua Drainage Board makes and levies a special rate of twenty-four sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon all the rateable values of all properties in the said Special District No. 5, consisting of part Section 6, Block 11, Horowhenua Survey District, containing 152 acres 2 roods 26 perches, in the occupation of Edward Law, part of Section 5, Block 11, Horowhenua Survey District, containing 45 acres 2 roods 31 perches, in the occupation of Reginald L. Tippler, and part Section 4, Block 11, Horowhenua Survey District, containing 133 acres 2 roods 5 perches, in the occupation of George Newman Wood, for the payment of interest at the rate of 4½ per centum per annum for the term mentioned, and for the repayment of the said loan of £300; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of February and August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The cost of raising such loan and the first year’s interest to be paid out of loan.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Makerua Drainage Board at its meeting held at Palmerston North on Thursday, 12th November, 1914.

ELTHAM DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Eltham Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £450, authorized to be raised by the Eltham Drainage Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of land drainage construction works as follows—viz., between Lots 6 and 10 of Sub. 1, Pukengahu Block, Block VII, Ngaere S.D. (20 chains, more or less); between said Lots 6 & 10 and Section 34, Block XI, Ngaere S.D. (26 chains, more or less); and between said Section 34 and Section 35, Block XI aforesaid (61 chains, more or less); making a total distance of 107 chains, more or less—the said Eltham Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of two 13/16ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Eltham Drainage District No. 10 Special-rating Area, and comprising Section 34 and northern part of Section 35 (80 a. 0 r. 0 p.), Block XI, Lot 6 of Sub. 1, Pukengahu Block, Block VII, and southern part of Lot 10 of said Sub. 1 (50 a. 0 r. 0 p.), Ngaere
