HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—DANNEVIRKE COUNTY.—
TAHORAITI SURVEY DISTRICT.

First-class Land.

SECTIONS 1 and 2, Block VII: Area, 251 acres 2 roods.
Cash purchase: Total price, £2,340. Occupation with right
of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £58 10s. Renewable lease:
Half-yearly rent, £46 16s.

Sections 3 and 4, Block VII: Area, 198 acres and 14
perches. Cash purchase: Total price, £1,640. Occupation
with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £41. Renewable
lease: Half-yearly rent, £32 16s.

Sections 1 and 2.—Generally hilly and undulating, with
flats along river and road; part laid down in grass, with
patches of manuka scrub and bush; good limestone hill on
Section 1. Distance about four miles from Dannevirke by
metalled road.

Sections 3 and 4.—Undulating country, with some flats;
all ploughable; part ploughed and laid down in grass;
manuka scrub along creek in Section 4. About four miles
distant from Dannevirke by metalled road.

this eleventh day of November, one thousand nine
hundred and fourteen.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Nelson Land District
for Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the
national endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto
shall be open for selection on renewable lease on
Monday, the eleventh day of January, one thousand nine
hundred and fifteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said
Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be
leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Murchison County.—Hope Survey District.

SECTION 10, Block I: Area, 434 acres; capital value, £220;
half-yearly rent, £4 8s.

Weighted with £90, valuation for improvements.

About 70 acres felled and grassed, remainder covered
with heavy birch bush. Section composed chiefly of high
spurs of poor soil on granite formation. Altitude, 1,200 ft.
to 2,800 ft. Well watered. Situated about nineteen miles
from Glenhope Railway-station—eighteen miles dray-road,
balance pack-track.

Section 11, Block I: Area, 797 acres; capital value, £660;
half-yearly rent, £13 4s.

From flat to low hills, suitable for pastoral purposes,
covered with bush, principally birch. About half the section
is fairly easy hills and good soil, remainder high and poor.
Altitude, from 1,000 ft. to 2,800 ft. Well watered; sunny
aspect. Situated eighteen miles from Glenhope Railway-
station by dray-road and three-quarters of a mile by pack-
track.

Sections 12 and 13, Block I: Area, 410 acres; capital
value, £510; half-yearly rent, £10 4s.

Mostly flat land and easy hills. Altitude, 1,000 ft. to
1,500 ft. Covered with birch bush; suitable for agricultural
and pastoral purposes; well watered; sunny aspect; access
by dray-road. Situated about eighteen miles from Glenhope
Railway-station.

Section 14, Block I: Area, 973 acres; capital value, £810;
half-yearly rent, £16 4s.

About 150 acres of this section has been burnt, and
now carries blackberries and fern; the balance is heavy
bush, principally birch. The land is of fair quality, from
flat to low hills. Altitude, 1,200 ft. to 2,500 ft. Well suited
for pastoral purposes; well watered; sunny aspect. Situated
about eighteen miles from Glenhope Railway-station by dray-
road and three-quarters of a mile of unformed road.

Buller County.—Otumahana Survey District.

Section 16, Block IX: Area, 497 acres; capital value,
£250; half-yearly rent, £5.

Weighted with £10, valuation for improvements.

Land of sandstone formation, flat near creeks; carrying
mixed bush, mostly kamai, silver and black birch; well
watered. Situated about eleven miles from Karamea and
twenty-five miles from Seddonville by main road, except five
miles which is up Blue Duck Creek.

this seventeenth day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and fourteen.

Regulations under the Census and Statistics Act, 1910.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Census and
Statistics Act, 1910, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing
additional matter in regard to which the Statistician shall
collect statistics.


REGULATIONS.

  1. IN addition to the matters specified in paragraphs (a) to
    (j) of section 21 of the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, the
    Statistician shall, subject to that section, collect statistics in
    regard to stocks of wheat and flour.

  2. Every person carrying on business as a farmer, grain-
    merchant, or a grain-miller shall on request, within such time
    or times as he may be required by the Statistician so to do,
    furnish particulars as to the stocks of wheat or flour held by
    him on a date or dates to be specified by the Statistician.

  3. In order to comply with the last preceding regulation
    every such person shall fill up and supply to the Statistician,
    or any officer authorized in writing by him, the particulars
    specified in the form set out in the Schedule hereto, in so far
    as such is applicable to his business, and in accordance with
    the instructions accompanying that form, and shall sign the
    form certifying to the correctness of the particulars entered
    therein.

  4. These regulations shall apply to all managers and others
    who may for the time being be in charge of the farm, ware-
    house, or mill in the owner's absence.

LIVERPOOL, Governor

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”),
I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make
the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting
season in the Canterbury Acclimatization District, and the
conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license
and the fee payable therefor.
