Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy in Gisborne Fire Board by Insurance Companies.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, Francis Henry Dillon Bell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the 12th day of November, 1913, to be the day for holding an election of one member of the Gisborne Fire Board by the insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of George Laurence Evans as a member of the said Fire Board.

Special Order made by the Waitemata County Council merging Hobsonville Town District.

THE following special order, made by the Waitemata County Council, is published for general information.

SPECIAL ORDER MERGING HOBSONVILLE TOWN DISTRICT.

THAT a petition having been presented to the Waitemata County Council on the 8th day of August, 1913, and signed by not less than a majority of the ratepayers of the Hobsonville Town District who possess in the aggregate not less than half the rateable property therein, praying that the Hobsonville Town Board be dissolved and the Hobsonville Town District be merged into the County of Waitemata, and such petition having been published in the County of Waitemata not less than one month before presentation, it is hereby declared and resolved, in pursuance of sections 31 and 32 of the Counties Act, 1908, that the Hobsonville Town Board be dissolved from the 1st day of November, 1913, and that the Hobsonville Town District is merged into the County of Waitemata; and, further, that this special resolution do operate as a special order.

I hereby certify that the above special order was made in accordance with law, and passed at a special meeting of the Waitemata County Council held on the 12th day of September, 1913, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 10th day of October, 1913.
