HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, transfers, and retirements of the undermentioned officers of the New Zealand Staff Corps, Royal New Zealand Artillery, and Territorial Force:

New Zealand Staff Corps.

Captain Rayner Barrington Smythe, from the Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, to be Captain, with seniority next below Captain John Evelyn Duigan. Dated 19th October, 1913.

The Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery.

Captain Rayner Barrington Smythe is transferred to the New Zealand Staff Corps. Dated 19th October, 1913.

Command.

Major Edward Sherson to temporarily command a New Zealand Field Artillery Brigade. Dated 7th October, 1913.

Queen Alexandra’s 2nd (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles.

Lieutenant-Colonel David Pringle, v.d., from the 6th (Manawatu) Mounted Rifles, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, vice Lieutenant-Colonel William James Davis, transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 11th August, 1913.

6th (Manawatu) Mounted Rifles.

Lieutenant-Colonel David Pringle, v.d., is transferred to the Queen Alexandra’s 2nd (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles. Dated 11th August, 1913.

Lieutenant Cyril Russell Morris is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 3rd November, 1913.

New Zealand Field Artillery.

2nd Lieutenant Gilbert Edward Archey to be Lieutenant. Dated 23rd March, 1913.

Lieutenant David Alexander Ewen is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 7th October, 1913.

James William Curtis to be Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 17th July, 1913.

Antonie Beekman to be Captain (on probation). Dated 17th July, 1913.

Arthur Valentine Williams to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 17th July, 1913.

2nd (South Canterbury) Regiment.

Lieutenant Robert Henry Davis resigns his commission. Dated 28th September, 1913.

4th (Otago) Regiment.

Major Percy Richmond Fordham is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 23rd September, 1913.

7th (Wellington West Coast) Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant Charles Bruce Menteath to be Lieutenant, to complete establishment. Dated 1st February, 1913.

12th (Nelson) Regiment.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 14th August, 1913, relative to the resignation of 2nd Lieutenant George Lawn, is hereby cancelled.

13th (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant George Lawn resigns his commission. Dated 1st March, 1912.

15th (North Auckland) Regiment.

Lieutenant Norman Alexander Duthie is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 28th August, 1913.

Captain Samuel James Bolton to be Major. Dated 18th February, 1913.

(South Island Battalion.)
