Resolution.

Whereas the Remuera Road Board has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £37,045 for the purpose of drainage, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of 3½ per cent. per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance a part of such loan—namely, £12,045—at the said rate of interest, but can advance same at the rate of 3¾ per cent. per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Remuera Road Board hereby resolves that, for the purpose of providing money sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect to such part of such loan—namely, £12,045—the said Remuera Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/24 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area—viz., all that parcel of land in the Remuera Road District, in the County of Eden, commencing at the junction of Brighton Road and Remuera Road, bounded towards the south-west by the Remuera Road, Market Road, and Great South Road to Graham Street, towards the south and south-east by Mount Wellington and Tamaki West Road Districts to the Orakei Creek, towards the north by the Orakei Basin and Hobson Bay to the Recreation Reserve 5A, thence towards the west by Arney Road and Brighton Road to the commencing-point; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

Resolution made by the Council of the Borough of Taumarunui.

THE following resolution, made by the Taumarunui Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate for Dreadnought Gas Lighting Loan, £4,500.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the several amendments thereof respectively, and of every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Taumarunui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the principal or sinking fund, interest, and other charges on a loan of £4,500, authorized to be raised by the said Taumarunui Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of house and street lighting by means of Dreadnought gas, the said Taumarunui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. and 1/5 of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property of that portion of the borough comprised in the following —the Taumarunui Native Township, bounded on the north by the railway-line, on the west by the Ongarue River, and on the east by the Wanganui River; (b) the Rangaroa Village Settlement; (c) Sections 1 to 27 (inclusive) of Ohura South G No. 4b Subdivision, and known as Ngatai’s Extension: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Taumarunui Borough Council held on the 31st day of January, 1913.

Resolution made by the Council of the County of Raglan.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Karamu Special-rating District.—Loan of £1,750.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby notify that the following is the result of the poll of ratepayers taken over the Karamu Special-rating District on the 1st day of February, 1913, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £1,750 for the purpose of forming and metalling certain roads within the said special-rating district—£250 to be expended on the Tunaki Road, £200 on the Kaniwhaniwha Road, £950 on the road from Whatawhata Bridge to the finger-post on the Raglan Road, and the balance of £350 on the road from Fortunes towards Harapepe—under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and amendments thereto, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling. The loan to be for a period of thirty-six years and a half at the rate of interest of £5 per centum per annum, together with an additional sum of £1 per centum per annum with which to provide the necessary sinking fund.

Number of valid votes recorded, 83; for the proposal, 69; against the proposal, 14.

The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Napier Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and their respective amendments, the Napier Borough Council hereby by way of special order resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £15,083 15s. 9d., authorized to be raised by the said Napier Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying or clearing off the overdraft existing on the 31st day of March, 1910, in respect of the District Fund Account of the said borough at the Bank of New Zealand, to the extent to which the same is still unpaid—namely, to the extent of £15,083 15s. 9d.—the said Napier Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. and 17/20 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Napier, comprising the whole of the said borough; and that such special rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-two years or thereabouts, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Made by special order passed at a special meeting of the Napier Borough Council held on the 6th day of November, 1912, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting held on the 4th day of December, 1912.
