Arbor Day.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 2nd June, 1913.

WEDNESDAY, the 16th day of July next, will be observed as a public holiday in the Government offices throughout the Dominion, for the celebration of Arbor Day.

In order that the movement may be made as successful as possible, the Government hopes that the Mayors of various municipalities and Chairmen of local bodies will place the matter prominently before the people of the Dominion, and do all they can to encourage the planting of public reserves and other available lands, both public and private, with trees suited to the locality.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed by the Bay of Islands County Council.-Notice No. 1709.

It is hereby notified for public information that the Bay of Islands County Council has declared Bathurst Burr to be a noxious weed within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.

Consent under Section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909.

In pursuance of the power conferred upon the Native Minister by subsection (b) of section 298 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, William Herbert Herries, Native Minister, acting on the recommendation of the Waikato District Maori Land Board, do hereby consent to a lease of Maungarangi B No. 3a Block, containing 10 acres and 16 perches, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, subject to the same restrictions and to the same requirements as to confirmation and otherwise as if the land was not subject to Part XVI of the Native Land Act, 1909. As witness my hand, this 9th day of June, 1913.
