hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on the loan of £2,500, authorized to be raised by the said Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purpose -road-formation, metal, and other improvements to the roads of the Township of Manunui—the said Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 19½d. in the pound on the annual value of the whole rateable property in the Township of Manunui; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off. The first payment of this rate to be made on the 1st day of June, 1914.

Resolutions made by the Council of the County of Eltham.

THE following resolutions, made by the Eltham County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912.

ELTHAM COUNTY COUNCIL.
Kaponga Riding (Outlying) Loan.-Resolution making Special Rate for Repayment of Loan.

WHEREAS the Eltham County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £20,000 for the purpose of grading, forming, widening, extending metal, and constructing culverts on the following roads in the Kaponga Riding (outlying) of the County of Eltham, namely:

  1. Stratford-Opunake Road, from Auroa Road to end of present metal (240 chains, more or less) ... £3,142
  2. Eltham Road, Auroa Road to Palmer Road, exclusive of Kaponga Town District portion (500 chains, more or less) ... £8,290
  3. Auroa Road, Stratford-Opunake Road to railway reserve (220 chains, more or less), half-share ... £1,100
  4. Rowan Road, Stratford County boundary to railway reserve (240 chains, more or less) ... £1,800
  5. Mangawhero Road, end of present metal to railway reserve (340 chains, more or less) ... £3,084
  6. Melville Road, from Eltham Road northward (80 chains, more or less) ... £800
  7. Manaia Road, Stratford County boundary to railway reserve, exclusive of Kaponga Town District portion (200 chains, more or less) ... £1,110
  8. Palmer Road, Eltham Road to railway reserve (130 chains, more or less), half-share ... £350
  9. Engineering, contingencies, and preliminary expenses ... £324
    Total ... £20,000

And the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan (namely, £6,000) at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £4 10s. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Eltham County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to pay the increased payments in respect of such part of such loan (namely, £6,000), the said Eltham County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/22 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on basis of capital value) of all rateable property of Kaponga Riding aforesaid; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is fully paid off.

Certificate.

The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and carried at a properly convened special meeting of the Eltham County Council held on the 10th day of May, 1913.

Mangatoki Riding Loan.-Resolution making Special Rate for Repayment of Loan.

WHEREAS the Eltham County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £30,000 for the purpose of grading, forming, widening, extending metal, and constructing culverts on the following roads in the Mangatoki Riding of the County of Eltham, namely:-

  1. Eltham Road, from Waingongoro Bridge to Palmer Road (7 miles, more or less) ... £15,310
  2. Stuart Road, from Finnerty Road to Neil Road (380 chains, more or less) ... £2,199
  3. Cornwall Road, from Stuart Road to Waingongoro River (80 chains, more or less) ... £906
  4. Hunter Road, from Hastings Road to Skeet Road (445 chains, more or less) ... £3,382
  5. Hastings Road, from Skeet Road to Stratford County boundary (470 chains, more or less) ... £5,032
  6. Duthie Road, from Eltham Road to Stratford County boundary (192 chains, more or less) ... £1,342
  7. Palmer Road, from Eltham Road to Skeet Road (310 chains, more or less) ... £1,729
  8. Engineering, contingencies, and preliminary expenses ... £100
    Total ... £30,000

MORRINSVILLE TOWN BOARD.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Morrinsville Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £6,000, authorized to be raised by the Morrinsville Town Board, under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1908, and the Town Boards Act, 1908, and all amendments thereof
