Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Wellington
of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 40 ft.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth
day of May, 1913.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and seventy-eight of
the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, it is, inter
alia, provided that where the configuration of any borough
is such as that within any particular areas or area thereof it
is difficult or inexpedient to construct streets of a width of
sixty-six feet, as required by the said Act, the Governor may,
by Order in Council defining the limits of such particular
area or areas, authorize the Council to permit within such
area or areas the construction of streets and private streets
of a width less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty feet :
And whereas the configuration of part of the City of Wel-
ington is such that within the area described in the Schedule
hereto it is inexpedient to construct a street of sixty-six feet
in width :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and
of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf,
His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zea-
land, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the
Wellington City Council to permit the laying-off of a street
of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than forty
feet, within the area described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land in the Wellington Land District,
situated in the City of Wellington, comprising 4 acres 2 roods
39·9 perches, being part of Section 10, Ohiro District ; as the
said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 33536, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public
Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District,
and thereon bordered brown.

Declaring a Native to be a European.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of May, 1913.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of the Native Land
Amendment Act, 1912, it is enacted that the Go-
vernor may by Order in Council, on the recommendation of
the Native Land Court, declare any Native to be a European :
And whereas Mary Spooner, of Raketaupuna, being a
Native within the meaning of the Native Land Act, 1909,
applied in the prescribed form for a recommendation of the
Court that she might be declared a European : And whereas
the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application,
has recommended that an Order in Council be issued de-
claring the said Mary Spooner to be a European : And
whereas it is expedient that such declaration should be made :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said Mary
Spooner to be a European.

Auckland, being a Native within the meaning of the Native
Land Act, 1909, applied in the prescribed form for a recom-
mendation of the Court that she might be declared to be a
European : And whereas the said Court, having duly in-
quired into the said application, has recommended that an
Order in Council be issued declaring the said Jane Brown,
otherwise Heni te Rau, to be a European : And whereas it is
expedient that such declaration should be made :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council

that she might be declared to be a European : And whereas
the said Court, having duly inquired into the said application,
has recommended that an Order in Council be issued declaring
the said Agnes Takarea McRae, otherwise Rehana Kerehi,
otherwise Takarea Kerehi, to be a European : And whereas
it is expedient that such declaration should be made :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said Agnes

an Order in Council be issued declaring the said Bessie te
Wenerau Grace, otherwise Te Wenerau Kerehi, to be a
European : And whereas it is expedient that such declara-
tion should be made :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers and authority conferred on him by section seventeen
of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1912, and acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare the said Bessie
te Wenerau Grace, otherwise Te Wenerau Kerehi, to be a
