Notice of Intention to take Land in Block X, Whirinaki Survey District, for the Purpose of a Landing Reserve.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a landing reserve in Block X, Whirinaki Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Pipiriki, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block VI, Whakatane Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.

Prohibition of Money-order and Postal Correspondence for Peter Grant and Barnett and Grant, Christchurch.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person and firm whose names and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in receiving money as the consideration for an assurance or agreement implied to pay money on events relating to horse-races, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said person or the said firm shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person or the said firm (either by his or its own or any fictitious or assumed name) shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Applications invited for the Position of Inspector.

Office of the Public Service Commissioner,
Wellington, 6th May, 1913.

  1. APPLICATIONS will be received up till noon on 30th June, 1913, from officers of the Public Service, for the position of Inspector, Public Service Commissioners’ Office, Wellington.

  2. Applications must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and marked “Application for Position of Inspector.”

  3. Applications must embrace a statement of education and experience, and particulars of age, &c.

  4. The qualifications essential for the position are:—
    (a.) Special knowledge and experience of and capacity for systematizing administrative methods and details.
    (b.) A thorough knowledge of accountancy in the practical and technical sense.
    (c.) To be well informed in matters affecting “costing,” as applied to undertakings or works.
    (d.) To be experienced in modern “stores” arrangements in respect to—
    (i.) The purchase, handling, and custody.
    (ii.) The collection and custody of old or unserviceable material, &c.
