QUEENSLAND.
Wilson’s Promontory Light, Victoria.
In accordance with advice received from the Commonwealth Government, notice is hereby given that a temporary fixed light has been exhibited at Wilson’s Promontory. Character of light: Fixed; colour, white; power, about 5,000 candles. A new optical apparatus is being installed, and the new light may be exhibited experimentally after the 14th April. Character of light: Group; flashing, 4 flashes every 20 seconds; power, 189,000 candles; other details unchanged. Further notice will be given.

Notice to Mariners No. 51 of 1913.
TOKOMARU BAY LIGHTS.

Wellington, N.Z., 6th May, 1913.
THE Waiapu County Council has notified that the leading-lights in Tokomaru Bay (Notice No. 14 of 1912) have been considerably increased in power, as electric light has now been installed. The front red light (99 ft. in height above high water, 150 yards from the beach) shows quite distinctly in clear weather for a distance of 10 miles, and the rear white light (162 ft. above high water, 224 yards from the beach) shows up well in clear weather for a distance of 15 miles. These lights are in line with one another bearing 291° (N. 84° W. magnetic), and the line produced passes through Marotiri (1,503 ft.). The beacons have been erected to indicate as nearly as possible the middle of the stretch of water between Hikutu Rock and the end of the reef projecting from Kotunui Point.
The arc of visibility of these lights will be 64°, from 261° (S. 81° W. magnetic) to 325° (N. 35° W. magnetic), and in very clear weather they may sometimes be seen for 16 and 19 miles respectively.

Notice to Mariners No. 52 of 1913.
PORT NICHOLSON.—ERECTION OF BEACON AND REMOVAL OF LIGHTED BUOY.

Wellington, N.Z., 6th May, 1913.
THE Wellington Harbour Board have notified that on and after 1st June, 1913, the lighted buoy at Jerningham Point will be removed for a period of one month for repairs and cleaning.
Its position will be temporarily marked by an unlighted black buoy. It is also notified that a beacon, painted white, has been erected on Point Halswell. It is about 9 ft. in width, shaped octagonally, has a height of about 21 ft. above high water, and is erected on the extreme northerly part of the point at low-water mark.
The black buoy off this point will now be unnecessary, and it will be removed on the 1st June, 1913.
