Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Undulating to broken country, covered with fern and tutu, with a small patch of light mixed forest in north-east corner. Soil of medium quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by small stream. Situated in the Rangitoto No. 1 Improved Farm Settlement. Distant about eight miles from Te Kuiti by wagon-track.
WAIKATO COUNTY.—TAUPIRI PARISH.

Soil of fair quality, on slate formation; well watered by Mangapiko Stream. Distant about twelve miles from Ohinewai Railway-station by good cart-road.

Altitude, 300 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level. Very broken country on the slopes of Karioi Mountain; about 20 acres fern, balance mixed forest comprising rata, rimu, miro, kohekohe, and tawa, with dense undergrowth of supplejack, shrubs, and bush ferns. Soil of fair second-class quality, on clay subsoil; well watered by small stream. Distant twelve miles from Raglan, eleven miles of which is by formed road, balance unformed.

Altitude, 20 ft. to 50 ft. above sea-level. Fern land, broken, with flat-topped ridges. Soil of fair quality, on sandstone formation; fairly watered by springs in small swamps. Distant two miles from Ohiwa Wharf, one mile of which is by boat at high water, or by beach suitable for wheel-traffic at low water, and one mile by rough track.
WAITOMO COUNTY.—PIRONGIA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Altitude, 600 ft. to 950 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land; covered with fern and manuka, with some clumps of light mixed forest in gullies. The face next the road is very steep, but about 300 acres of the section is ploughable. Soil of good second-class quality; well watered by streams and springs. Fronts main Pirongia-Kawhia coach-road, about twelve miles from Pirongia.
ROTORUA COUNTY.—ROTORUA SURVEY DISTRICT.

Weighted with £54 for bushfelling.
Altitude, 1,000 ft. to 1,200 ft. above sea-level. About 30 acres level land at east end of section, remainder undulating to broken; 27 acres has been felled, balance mixed forest comprising tawa, rata, rimu, hinau, taraire, rewarewa, black-birch, &c., with thick undergrowth of scrub. Soil of good quality, of a pumice or sandy nature, on pumice formation; poorly watered by stream running in gorge on west boundary. Distant a mile and a half from Te Pu Post-office by formed road, known as the Lagoon Road.
