three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the
power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His
Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council thereof, doth hereby extend the period of an Order
in Council made the seventh day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and twelve, for a further period of six months, pro-
hibiting all alienations of the Native land specified in the
Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Arrangements for taking Poll respecting Proposed Borough of
Takapuna, County of Waitemata.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
first day of April, 1913.
Present :
THE HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Amend-
ment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
direct that a poll shall be taken on the proposal praying that
the area described in the Schedule hereto, being part of the
Takapuna Riding of the County of Waitemata, may be con-
stituted a borough under the Municipal Corporations Act,
1908, and, further, doth hereby make the following appoint-
ments and arrangements for the purpose of taking the said
poll :—

Alick Merriott Pickford, of Swanson Street, Auckland,
to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said
poll, and also to be the person authorized to prepare a voters
roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll. -
The voters roll prepared and signed by the said Alick
Merriott Pickford shall be the voters roll to be used at the said
poll. -
Each person on such roll shall be entitled to one vote
only. -
The said poll shall be taken on Wednesday, the twenty-
eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen,
and shall close at seven o’clock in the afternoon of that day. -
Except as herein provided, the said poll shall be taken
as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local
Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and the Returning Officer
hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer
appointed for the purposes of that Act.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF
TAKAPUNA.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards
the north-west generally by the southern side of Archer Road
from the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 6 of Section
No. 102, Parish of Takapuna, to the north-eastern corner of
Section No. 104, Parish of Takapuna; thence across Archer
Road to the south-western corner of Section No. 12; thence
by the northern side of the road forming the southern
boundary of that section; thence across that road and by
the north-western boundary of Section No. 3, Parish of
Takapuna, to Gordon Avenue; thence by the north-western
side of Gordon Avenue to and across Beaconsfield Road;
thence by the north-eastern side of that road to Sea View
Road; thence by the north-western side of Sea View Road
to a stream which crosses that road at the westernmost
corner of Allotment No. 25 of Section No. 5, Parish of Taka-
puna; thence by that stream and by high-water mark of the
Wairau Stream to the south-eastern corner of Allotment
No. 23 of Section No. 5 aforesaid; thence towards the east
generally by a right line across the mouth of the said Wairau
Stream, and by Hauraki Gulf to the Borough of Devon-
port, and high-water mark of Ngataranga Bay to O’Neill
Point; thence towards the west generally by high-water
mark of Shoal Bay to the south-western corner of Section
No. 68, Parish of Takapuna; thence by the south-western
boundary of that section to and across Northcote Road;
and thence by Section No. 93, Parish of Takapuna, and
Allotments Nos. 2, 4, and 6 of Section No. 102 to the place
of commencement.

Certain Species of Birds indigenous to New Zealand not to
be deemed protected.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
first day of April, 1913.

THE HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the Animals Protection Act, 1908,
as amended by the Animals Protection Amendment Act,
1910, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
suspend the operation of section ten of the said Animals
Protection Amendment Act, 1910, for the period commenc-
ing on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and thirteen, and ending on the thirty-first day of July, one
thousand nine hundred and thirteen, with respect to the
species of birds indigenous to New Zealand mentioned in
the Schedule hereto :
Provided, however, that the said birds shall not be taken
or killed except in such districts and on such conditions
as may be notified by the Governor under the said Acts.

Pukeko, teal, grey duck, spoonbill duck, black swan, wild
goose.

Land temporarily reserved as an Addition to a Site for a Public
School in Matamata Township, Auckland Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first
section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily
reserve from sale the land in the Auckland Land District
described in the Schedule hereunder written, as an addition
to a site for a public school.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, being Block XXI,
Matamata Township (Block II, Tapapa Survey District).
Bounded towards the north-east by Tower Road, 150 links;
towards the south-east by Block X, Matamata Township,
500 links; towards the south-west by Miro Street, 150 links;
and towards the north-west by Block IX, Matamata Township
aforesaid, 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or
less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and
S. 1913/221, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this seventeenth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and thirteen.
