Land temporarily reserved as an Addition to a Site for a Public School in the Southland Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Southland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, as an addition to a site for a public school.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 2 roods 3 perches, more or less, being Section 70, Block XIV, Chatton Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a road, 751·1 links; towards the south-east by Section 12, 931·8 links; and towards the south-west and north-west by Section 67, 697·2 links and 652·2 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 5339/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Bounded towards the north generally by Sections 32, 2, and 1, and again by Section 2, all in Block I, Mimi Survey District, 4265·5 links; then by a stream, and again by Section 2 aforesaid, 1170 links and 252·6 links; towards the west by Sections 2 and 1 aforesaid, 1603·5 links; again towards the north by the Mohakatino-Parininihi Block No. 1B, 3426·8 links; towards the east generally by Sections 3 and 4, Block I aforesaid, 2909·1 links; and towards the south by Section 31, Block I aforesaid, 6855·2 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1912/58, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Opening Lands in Taranaki Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

WAITOTARA COUNTY.—OMARA SURVEY DISTRICT.
Situated on the Whakaihuwaka Road. Access from landing on the Wanganui River, from six miles and a half to eight miles distant, by surveyed road only; access will eventually be from Whangamomona, about thirty-five miles and a half to thirty-seven miles and a half distant (nine miles and a half dray-road, ten miles bridle-road, and balance unformed road), and from Douglas Railway-station, about forty-four miles and a half to forty-six miles and a half distant (twenty-four miles dray-road, five miles bridle-road, and balance unformed road); but there is a swag-track, cut by surveyors. The sections comprise broken hills and valleys. The soil is of good quality, resting on a papa and limestone formation. The forest is heavy, comprising tawhero, tawa, rimu, rata, &c., with a very dense undergrowth of mahoe, kotukutuku, raurekau, kiekie, &c. The ridges on Section 2 are covered with black-birch. The sections are well watered. Elevation ranges from 400 ft. to 2,300 ft. above sea-level.
