Resolution made by the Council of the County of Makara.

THE following resolution, made by the Makara County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Copy of Minute passed by the Makara County Council at a Monthly Meeting held in the Hutt County Chambers on Friday, 10th January, 1913.

THE Chairman moved: That, whereas the Makara County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £2,300 for the purpose of constructing a road to Newlands, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has previously finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of £3 15s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan—namely, £2,000—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £3 17s. 6d. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Makara County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such part of such special loan—namely, £2,000—the said Makara County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅝d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Newlands Special-rating Area, comprising a portion of the Porirua Riding; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable annually on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is fully paid off.—Seconded by Councillor Haggerty, and carried.

Resolution made by the Council of the Borough of Whangarei.

THE following resolution, made by the Whangarei Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and also the other charges on a loan of £2,750, authorized to be raised by the Whangarei Borough Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the completion and furnishing of the town hall, public library, and offices, the said Whangarei Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2/25 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Whangarei (according to the capital value thereof); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-four years and a half from the 1st of April, 1913, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at an ordinary meeting of the Whangarei Borough Council held on Monday, the 10th day of February, 1913.

Resolution made by the Blenheim Borough Council.

THE following resolution, made by the Blenheim Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BLENHEIM BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Blenheim Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,250, authorized to be raised by the Blenheim Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purpose—viz., being portion of the Council’s share in connection with the construction of a bridge at the west end of High Street, Blenheim—the said Blenheim Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¹⁄₁₆d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We, John Joseph Corry, Mayor of the Borough of Blenheim, and David Patrick Sinclair, Town Clerk of the said borough, do hereby declare that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution making a special rate, passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Blenheim Borough Council held on the 7th February, 1913, and that the common seal of the Corporation of the said borough was hereby affixed in our presence.

Resolution made by the Council of the Borough of Sumner.

THE following resolution, made by the Sumner Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

SUMNER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution of the Sumner Borough Council at a Special Meeting held on the 11th Day of February, 1913.

MOVED by Councillor Smithson, and seconded by Councillor Boulton, and carried unanimously,—That whereas the Sumner Borough Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £10,000 for the purpose of installation and reticulation of coal-gas works, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of £4 17s. 6d. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance part of such loan—namely, £2,000—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £5 2s. 10d. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Sumner Borough Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such part of such loan—namely, £2,000—the said Sumner Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/99 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Gas-works Loan Special-rating Area within the Borough of Sumner, being all that area comprised within the following boundaries—commencing at a point at the intersection of Christchurch-Sumner Road and the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 158; thence by the eastern boundary of Rural Section 158 to Rural Section 10323; thence by the southern boundary of Rural Section 10323 to the rifle range reserve; thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of the rifle range; thence by a straight line to the boundary of the borough near Mount Pleasant; thence by the boundary of the borough to the Lyttelton Harbour; thence by the Lyttelton Harbour, the ocean, and the estuary to the point of commencement. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such part of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such part of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.
