And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances
Office Superintendent is unable to advance such loan—namely,
£2,000—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same
at the rate of £3 17s. 6d. per centum per annum :
Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910,
the Eltham County Council hereby resolves: That, for the
purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased
payments in respect of such loan—namely, £2,000—the said
Eltham County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate
of 1/29 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on
basis of capital value) of all the rateable property of the
Kaponga Town District aforesaid; and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is
fully paid off.
Certificate.
The foregoing resolution was duly proposed, seconded, and
carried at a properly convened special meeting of the Eltham
County Council held on the 8th day of February, 1913.

Kaponga Riding (Outlying) Loan.—Resolution making Special Rate for Repayment of Loan.
WHEREAS the Eltham County Council has been authorized
by the ratepayers to borrow £20,000 for the purpose of grading,
forming, widening, extending metal, and constructing cul-
verts on the following roads in the Kaponga Riding (outlying)
of the County of Eltham, namely :—
- Stratford–Opunake Road, from Auroa Road to
end of present metal (240 chains, more or
less) .. .. .. .. .. £ 3,142 - Eltham Road, Auroa Road to Palmer Road,
exclusive of Kaponga Town District portion
(500 chains, more or less) .. .. 8,290 - Auroa Road, Stratford–Opunake Road to rail-
way reserve (220 chains, more or less) half-
share .. .. .. .. 1,100 - Rowan Road, Stratford County boundary to
railway reserve (240 chains, more or less) .. 1,800 - Mangawhero Road, end of present metal to
railway reserve (340 chains, more or less).. 3,084 - Melville Road, from Eltham Road northward
(80 chains, more or less) .. .. 800 - Manaia Road, Stratford County boundary to
railway reserve, exclusive of Kaponga Town

finally granted the application for such loan at the rate of
£3 10s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zea-
land State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is
unable to advance part of such loan—namely, £7,000—at the
said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of
£3 17s. 6d. per centum per annum:
Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910,
the Eltham County Council hereby resolves: That, for the
purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased
payments in respect of such part of such loan—namely,
£7,000—the said Eltham County Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of 1/51 of a penny in the pound upon the
rateable value (on basis of capital value) of all rateable pro-
perty of the Kaponga Riding aforesaid; and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such part of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day
of October in each and every year during the currency of such
part of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a
half, or until such part of such loan is fully paid off.

THE following resolution, made by the Blenheim Borough
Council, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BLENHEIM BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Resolution making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Blenheim
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the
purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan
of £2,500, authorized to be raised by the Blenheim Borough
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following
purpose—viz., being the Council’s share in connection with
the construction of a bridge at the north end of Grove Road,
Blenheim—the said Blenheim Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of ⅛d. in the pound upon the un-
improved rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough
of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable
half-yearly on the first day of March and the 1st day of Sep-
tember in each year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully
paid off.
We, John Joseph Corry, Mayor of the Borough of Blenheim,
and David Patrick Sinclair, Town Clerk of the said borough,
do hereby declare that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution making a special rate passed at a properly
constituted meeting of the Blenheim Borough Council held
on the 7th February, 1913, and that the common seal of the
Corporation of the said borough was hereto affixed in our
presence.

special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the cur-
rency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day
of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six
years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
