THE following resolution, made by the Featherston County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
Dry River Water-race Loan, £200.
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Counties Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling, and in particular the powers vested in it by section 15 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, subclause (2) of section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and with the consent of ratepayers of the Dry River Water-race Special-rating District, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the said ratepayers the capital values of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said district is collectively greater than the capital values of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the special loan so authorized to be raised by a majority of the aforesaid ratepayers for the purpose of constructing concrete flumings, piping, and improvements to present races in the Dry River Water-race Special-rating District, the said Featherston County Council hereby levies and makes a special rate of ⅓d. in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the Dry River Water-race Special-rating District, being Sections 3, 5, 6, and 13, Dyer Settlement, Block XIII, Huangarua Survey District (1,156½ acres); part Section 6 (64 acres), part Section 7 (63 acres), part Section 7B (221 acres), part Section 8 (108 acres), part Section 9 (256 acres), part Section 12 (146 acres), part Section 14 (50 acres), Dyer Settlement, Block XIII, Huangarua Survey District; and Block XVI, Wairarapa Survey District, Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11 of Section 4, Block XIII, Huangarua Survey District (728 acres 1 rood 36 perches), all of which land is within the Otaraia Riding of the said county; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Featherston was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Featherston County Council, in the presence of—

THE following resolution, made by the Westport Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Resolution.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on a loan of £100, authorized to be raised by the Westport Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, being an amount of 10 per centum on the original sum of £1,000 already raised for the construction of municipal swimming-baths, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/180 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable values of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value); and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Westport Borough Council held on the 20th day of December, 1912.

FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Resolution striking Rate.
WHEREAS the Feilding Borough Council, under the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Health Act, 1908, and their respective amendments, and in accordance with a warrant dated the 25th day of March, 1912, from the Minister of Public Health, resolved to borrow £4,340 for the purpose of extending the present drainage system of the borough, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has finally granted the application for such loan, at the rate of 3¾ per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to grant such balance of loan—namely, £3,340—at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of 3⅞ per centum per annum: Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that be-
