Resuming Land for Scenic Purposes in the Hawke’s Bay Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under lease in perpetuity from His Majesty the King under Part III of the Land Act, 1892, dated the twenty-sixth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for scenic purposes:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under lease in perpetuity as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 47 acres 2 roods 28 perches, more or less, being portion of Section 1, Block VIII, Nuhaka North Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Lot 1 of Punianga No. 2 Block, 1853·5 links; towards the west generally by other part of Section 1 aforesaid, 3752 links; towards the south generally by other part of Section 1 aforesaid and a road-line, 2252 links; and towards the east generally by Whareongaonga C No. 2 Block and a road-line, 2271·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less, excluding the road which intersects the above-described area: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 535/18, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered purple.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owners of the land mentioned in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Whangarei and Otamatea County Councils, being the local authorities in whose districts the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto,

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, in the Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said land should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act and its amendments, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
