WESTERN TAIERI DRAINAGE BOARD ELECTION.

In the matter of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and the Land Drainage Act, 1908.

I HEREBY give public notice that William Lee and James Thomas Gibson were duly nominated as candidates for the office of Trustee for the Momona and Lee Creek Subdivisions respectively of the Western Taieri Land Drainage District. There being only one vacancy to be filled in each subdivision, and no other candidates nominated, I do publicly notify and declare the said WILLIAM LEE and JAMES THOMAS GIBSON to be duly elected Trustees for the Momona and Lee Creek Subdivisions respectively of the district aforesaid.

WESTERN TAIERI DRAINAGE BOARD ELECTION.

In the matter of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908.

I HEREBY give public notice that at the election of a Trustee for the Snow and Lakes Subdivisions respectively of the Western Taieri Land Drainage District, held this 4th day of November, 1912, the persons hereinafter named were candidates, and received the number of votes set opposite their names respectively, that is to say:-

Snow Subdivision. Votes.

Lakes Subdivision.
Doull, David .. .. .. 34
Lyall, George .. .. .. 19

James Miller and David Doull having received the highest number of votes in the respective subdivisions for which they were candidates, I hereby declare the said JAMES MILLER and DAVID DOULL to be duly elected Trustees for the Snow and Lakes Subdivisions respectively of the district aforesaid.

In the matter of KIRK AND COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, a general meeting of KIRK AND COMPANY (LIMITED), (in liquidation) will be held at the registered office of the said company, 77-79 Bond Street, Dunedin, on Friday, the 22nd day of November, 1912, at 2.30 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having laid before the meeting the account of the Liquidator showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing an explanation thereof given by the Liquidator. The company will be asked to declare by extraordinary resolution how the books, accounts, and documents of the company and the Liquidator are to be disposed of.

RESULT OF POLL.

HEREBY give notice that on the 30th October, 1912, a proposal was submitted to the ratepayers of the Borough of Marton that henceforth the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof shall be adopted in the Borough of Marton, and the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal were as follows:-

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SURNAME.

JOHN MERRETT, heretofore called and known by the name of JOHN HUGHES, of Aorangi, near Feilding, in the Provincial District of Wellington and Dominion of New Zealand, hereby give public notice that on the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of HUGHES, and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of JOHN MERRETT instead of the said name of JOHN HUGHES.

And I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wellington, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of HUGHES, and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the said name of JOHN MERRETT instead of JOHN HUGHES, and so as to be at all times hereafter called, known, and described by the name of JOHN MERRETT exclusively.

THE WHANGAREI FREEZING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, at Auckland, on the 7th day of November, 1912, the following special resolution was passed, viz.: "That it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is therefore desirable to wind up the company, and that it be wound up voluntarily forthwith; and that ERNEST GERARD, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding up the company."

NOTICE is hereby given that nominations of candidates to represent the Central District on the above-mentioned Board having been duly called on the 26th day of September, 1912, Arthur Hobson was the only candidate nominated, and the said ARTHUR HOBSON is declared duly elected. The number of candidates nominated being less than the number of vacancies to be filled, the said Board on the 8th day of November, 1912, appointed WILLIAM STEWART WALLACE, of the City of Wellington, a duly registered Chemist, to fill the vacancy. The said ARTHUR HOBSON and WILLIAM STEWART WALLACE are declared duly elected and appointed respectively to represent the Central District upon the said Board as from the 1st day of January, 1913.
