WAIKOHU COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

N OTICE is hereby given that the Waikohu County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a dray-road up the Waihora Valley; and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Te Karaka, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers, Te Karaka.

N OTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned, HENRY FREDERICK MOSS and WILLIAM BAIRD MCALISTER, carrying on business at Dunedin and elsewhere as Timber-merchants, in the name of the said HENRY FREDERICK MOSS, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of April, 1912. All debts due to or owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said HENRY FREDERICK MOSS.

P URSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, Sophia Deeble, of Thames, Spinster, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 2 p.m. on 16th October, 1912.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: Pokopokorus Stream, at Puru, commencing at peg 2 chains above the south-east corner of Section 8, Block I, Thames Survey District, and running in a north-westerly direction 6 chains to the south-east corner of Te Wharan Block, then dividing into two branches, one terminating at the northern corner of Te Wharan Block 9¾ chains from the point of division, and the other terminating at a point on the Tanewharahi Block 11 chains from the point of division. Total length: 26¾ chains.

Estimated time and cost of construction: One month; £50.

Mean depth and breadth: 2 in. and 1 in. pipes.

Number of heads to be diverted: One-twentieth of a sluice-head.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Domestic purposes.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
