PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Claremont Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 29th June, 1912.

CLAREMONT SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,336 acres 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, situate in Blocks XIV and XV, Pareora Survey District, and II and III, Otaio Survey District, being Rural Section 27743, also parts of Lots 1 and 2 on deposited plan No. 2628, comprising Rural Sections 5828, 15861, 15894, 16043x, 28536, 29243, 34307, 35623, and 35624, and parts 3276, 8864, 15857, 15857x, 15858, 15859, 15863, 15864, 16043, 16089, 16090, 16091, being all the land shown on certificate of title, Volume 276, folio 35, District Lands Registry Office, Christchurch; and as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 19434, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, I, William Ferguson Massey, Minister of Agriculture, hereby prescribe that the collection of the returns in connection with the account referred to in section 28 of the said Act shall be carried out by post or by Sub-Enumerators, and shall commence on the 20th day of October, and continue from day to day until the 31st day of the same month, unless sooner completed.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed by the Taranaki County Council.—Notice No. 1660.
