comprising the following subdivisions of the Taraketi No. 2 Block, in Block IX, Ongo Survey District: 2b (198 acres 1 rood 24 perches), 2c (198 acres 3 roods 24 perches), 2D (54 acres and 26 perches), 2E (198 acres 2 roods 28 perches), part 2F (276¼ acres, owned by H. J. D. McManaway), and 2F3 (99 acres and 18 perches). And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off; the interest and repayment of such loan being together at the rate of £5 1s. per centum per annum.

I, Robert Kirkpatrick Simpson, Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, do hereby certify that the above resolution was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the 5th day of October, 1912.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.—Loan of £500.—Water-main, Calico Road.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of laying a water-main along the Calico Road, from the Marton Borough boundary for a distance of about a mile, to supply water to the inhabitants, and that the cost of raising the loan be paid out of the loan, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Calico Road Special-rating District, comprising the following parts of Section VIII, and being part subdivision of York Farm Estate, Lots 1 and 2 (4 acres 3 roods 14 perches, assessed to G. M. Runciman), Lot 8 (4 acres 3 roods 38 perches, assessed to T. H. Bredin), Lot 9 (5 acres, assessed to Annie F. Shaw), Lots 10 to 13 and part 14 (39 acres 2 roods 5 perches, assessed to Abraham and Williams), Lots parts 14 and 27 (13 acres 3 roods 3 perches, assessed to E. L. A. Cobham), Lot part 27 (27 acres and 28·5 perches, assessed to Joseph Warring), and Lot part 27 (21 acres 3 roods 18 perches, assessed to Mary Taylor), and parts of Section XXXVI (23 acres, assessed to W. H. Emmerson, and 10 acres 2 roods 24·7 perches, assessed to Helder and Awdry), all the above being in Block III, Rangitoto Survey District; also parts of Section XXXVIII (9 acres, assessed to G. M. Runciman, 2 acres and 3 perches, assessed to S. D. McKillop, and 52 acres, assessed to A. W. Fullerton-Smith), and part Section XXXVII (40 acres, assessed to Percy Beard), both in Block XV, Wangaehu Survey District: as the said special-rating area is more particularly shown upon the map attached to the ratepayers’ consent to the said loan, and thereon bordered red. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off; the interest and repayment of such loan being together at the rate of £5 1s. per centum per annum.

I, Robert Kirkpatrick Simpson, Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, do hereby certify that the above resolution was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the 5th day of October, 1912.

Resolutions made by the Council of the Borough of Westport.

THE following resolutions, made by the Westport Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof respectively, and of every other power enabling it, the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Westport Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of equipping the fire brigade and extending the fire-brigade station, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/18 of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Westport; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 9th day of October, 1912.

WESTPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof respectively, and of every other power in that behalf enabling it, the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorized to be raised by the Westport Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of extension of the gas-works, including new gas-holder, retort benches, purifiers, and main-extensions, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 27/50 of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Westport; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Council held on the 9th day of October, 1912.
