BOROUGH OF TAPANUI.

In the matter of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and the Tapanui Commonage Reserve Exchange and Leasing Act, 1911.

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Tapanui Commonage Reserve Exchange and Leasing Act, 1911, I, WILLIAM SINCLAIR, Returning Officer at a poll of the electors of the Borough of Tapanui taken this day on a proposal that sections 5 and 6 of the last-mentioned Act be assented to by the said electors, hereby notify that at such poll the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as under:—

And I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

BOROUGH OF MATAURA.

PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mataura taken on the 4th day of September, 1912, on the proposal that the system of rating property in the said borough be on the basis of the unimproved value thereof, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 115, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 95; informal, 5; majority for the proposal, 20.

I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between us, the undersigned, as Farmers, and carried on by us at Netley, near Waikanae, has been this day dissolved by mutual consent.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District, at Roxburgh.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, William Braithwaite Rogers, of Teviot District, Sheep-farmer, hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner’s right: 20th June, 1912; No. 92223.

Address for service: Care Jabez Burton, Mining Agent, Roxburgh.

Dated at Roxburgh, this 12th day of August, 1912.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Block I, Teviot Survey District—commencing at a point in Butcher’s Creek at the east end of Section 3 and terminating at the south end of Mrs. Rogers’s area held under occupation license, about 8 chains distant from the Clutha River.

Length and intended course of race: 75 chains south, through Section 3; thence south-west, through Sections 17 and 16, same block; thence south, through part of area held by Mrs. Rogers under occupation license.

Points of intake: One at head.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Already constructed.

Mean depth and breadth: Depth, 1 ft.; breadth, 4 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Four.
