PUBLIC SERVICE SUPERANNUATION FUND.

MR. H. R. SPENCE, having resigned his position as an elected member of the Public Service Superannuation Board owing to his transfer on Customs business to London, desires to return his sincere thanks to the contributors to the fund for the honour done him by electing him as one of the first members of the Board and subsequently re-electing him as one of the unopposed candidates for the second period. These marks of confidence were deeply appreciated by him, and possibly at some future date he may again ask their recurrence if his services are required in the interests of the fund and contributors thereto.

CROWN CLOTHING MANUFACTURING COMPANY.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Crown Clothing Manufacturing Company (Limited), (in liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held on Monday, the 7th day of October, 1912, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidators; and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidators thereof shall be disposed of.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE A METAL RESERVE.

PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Tauranga County Council proposes to take the pieces of land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the purposes of a metal reserve; and also that a plan showing the lands required to be taken is deposited at the office of the Tauranga County Council, Spring Street, Tauranga, and is open for public inspection during business hours; and also that all persons affected by the taking of the said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the taking of said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the 30th day of August, 1912, being the date of the first publication of this notice, to the office of the Tauranga County Council aforesaid, addressed to the undersigned.

Schedule.

Approximate area of lands to be taken: 4 acres 1 rood and 1 acre 3 roods 19 perches, being portion of Paengaroa North A 3 Section 2 and Paengaroa North A 2 Section 2.

Situated in the Survey District of Maketu.

Coloured in plan edged red, plan No. 16636; and edged green, plan No. 16636.

NOTICE is hereby given, under terms of section 39 of the Partnership Act, 1908, that Mr. JOHN MATHESON, one of the partners of the firm, has purchased the interest of Mr. FARQUHAR JAMES MATHESON in the business of Messrs. Matheson and Co., and in the book debts of that firm as on the 28th day of June, 1912. The business will be carried on in future under the style of “Messrs. Matheson and Co.”

All persons having claims against the above-mentioned firm are hereby required to send them, with particulars, to Messrs. MATHESON AND CO., and all money payable to the above-mentioned firm may be paid to Messrs. MATHESON AND CO., Dee Street, Invercargill.

In the matter of a Bill intituled “An Act incorporating the Board of Governors of the Thomas George Macarthy Trust.”

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of His Excellency the Right Honourable JOHN POYNTER DICKSON-POYNTER, Baron Islington, Governor in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand, the Honourable WILLIAM FERGUSON MASSEY, Premier of the Dominion of New Zealand; FRANCIS REDWOOD, Roman Catholic Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Wellington; and DAVID McLAREN, Mayor of the City of Wellington, being members of the Board of Trustees appointed by the will of THOMAS GEORGE MACARTHY, late of the City of Wellington, Brewer, deceased, for the purposes mentioned in his last will and testament dated the 19th day of May, 1906, to make application to introduce as a Private Estate Bill a Bill for the purpose of constituting the said Board of Trustees a body corporate under the name of “The Board of Governors of the Thomas George Macarthy Trust, with perpetual succession and a common seal, and for the purpose of providing for the persons who are to succeed the present members of the said Board of Trustees; and providing for the appointment of persons to act in case of vacancy in any of the offices mentioned in the said will, or in case of the absence or incapacity of any member of the said Board; and for the purpose of empowering the said Board to accept and receive any gift, bequest, or devise of any money or property, in trust, for charitable or educational purposes generally, or for any specified charitable or educational purpose; and to administer any such trust, and to make by-laws and regulations and to grant certain other powers for the administration of the said trust.

And further notice is hereby given that it is the intention of the said trustees to apply by petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand for the passing of such Bill; further, that from and after Friday, the 20th day of September, 1912, copies of the said Bill will be deposited at the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders, in the Parliamentary Buildings, in the City of Wellington, and the same may be inspected at the said office.
