And whereas the configuration of part of the Borough of Richmond is such that within the area described in the Schedule hereto it is expedient to construct a street of sixty-six feet in width :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Richmond Borough Council to permit the laying-off of a street of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than fifty feet, within the area described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

All that area situated in the Borough of Richmond, being Sections 32 and 31 in the said borough ; as the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32031, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon bordered red.

Declaring Coalgate to Gorge Road, in the Selwyn County, to be a Government Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, 1912.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a Government road.

SCHEDULE.

All that road situated in the Selwyn County, Canterbury Land District, and known as the Coalgate to Gorge Road, commencing at the south-eastern corner of Reserve 1289, Block VIII, Hororata Survey District, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction generally through part of Block VIII and Blocks XII and XVI, Hororata Survey District ; thence in a westerly direction generally through part of the said Block XVI, and Blocks XV and XIV, and part of Block XIII, Hororata Survey District ; thence in a north-westerly direction generally through part of the said Block XIII, Hororata Survey District, and Block VII, Fighting Hill Survey District, adjoining part of Block VI, through Blocks IV, II, and I, Fighting Hill Survey District, Block XIV, and part of Block X, Coleridge Survey District, and terminating at the southernmost corner of Rural Section 31348 of the said Block X, Coleridge Survey District, being a distance of about thirty-three miles : as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32212, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red and lettered A.B.

Directing Sale of Railway Land under the Public Works Act, 1908.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, 1912.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by the thirtieth section of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise however for any public work, is not required for such public work, the Governor may, by Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions set forth in the said Act :

And whereas the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto has been, inter alia, acquired for the purposes of the Waikato-Thames Railway by a conveyance dated the third day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty, and duly registered in the office of the Registrar of Deeds, at Auckland, as Number 5816 W. :

And whereas the said parcel of land is not now required for the purposes of the said Waikato-Thames Railway, and the Minister of Railways has recommended that this Order in Council should be issued directing such parcel of land to be sold :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Puniu Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, 1912.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain :

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and five, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Puniu Domain :

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twelve :

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

CHARLES BOWDEN,
ANDREW SMITH WALLACE,
FREDERICK POTTS,
JOHN BURGESS TEASDALE, and
ALFRED HUTCHISON STOREY

to be the Puniu Domain Board having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act ; and doth hereby appoint Saturday, the fourteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, at three o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Domain Board’s Office, Bockett’s Buildings, Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
