THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Otatau Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

OTATAU TOWN DISTRICT.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan pursuant to Section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and Amendments thereof.

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Otatau Town District taken on Saturday, 13th July, 1912, on the proposal of the Otatau Town Board to borrow the sum of £1,000 sterling for the following purposes—for the erection of a town hall and public reading-room and Town Board offices, together with such other rooms as are requisite for an up-to-date public hall, to pay the costs of the architect in the preparation of plans and specifications, the costs incidental to raising the loan, and the first year’s interest, also the cost of a lighting installation and of furnishing, as set forth in the public notification appearing in the Otatau Standard of 11th, 18th, 25th June, and 2nd July, 1912—the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 60; the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 19; the total number of valid votes recorded was 79; informal votes, 2.

I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan pursuant to Section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and Amendments thereof.

I HEREBY give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Otatau Town District taken on Saturday, 13th July, 1912, on the proposal of the Otatau Town Board to borrow the sum of £2,000 sterling for the following purposes—bringing into the Otatau Town District a high-pressure water-supply as per the proposal published in the Otatau Standard of 11th, 18th, 25th June, and 2nd July, 1912—the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 52; the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 27; the total number of valid votes recorded was 79; informal votes, 2.

I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

OTANE TOWN BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll of Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby given notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Otane Town District was taken on the 10th day of July, 1912, on the proposal of the Otane Town Board to borrow the sum of £1,500 for the purpose of erecting Dreadnought Gasworks and lighting the Otane Town District with Dreadnought gas.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 65. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 9. Majority in favour of the proposal, 56. Informal vote, 1.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CITY OF NELSON.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Nelson taken on the 17th day of July, 1912, on the proposal of the Nelson City Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of purchasing land for the extension of the waterworks reserve, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 613; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 269; informal, 13; majority in favour of the proposal, 344.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CITY OF NELSON.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Nelson taken on the 17th day of July, 1912, on the proposal of the Nelson City Council to borrow the sum of £3,200 for the purpose of erecting saltwater swimming-baths, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 391; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 489; informal, 14; majority against the proposal, 98.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
