delineated on the public map of Block XII, Uawa
Survey District, and more particularly on Plan No. 1800
(blue), deposited in the Survey Office at Gisborne.

Concenting to a Mortgage of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-
second day of July, 1912.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two hundred and thirty of the
Native Land Act, 1909, it is provided that no instru-
ment of alienation of Native land by way of mortgage or
charge, other than a mortgage or charge in favour of a State
Loan Department, shall be confirmed by a Board or the
Court without the precedent consent of the Governor in
Council :

And whereas application has been made for the consent
of the Governor in Council to a mortgage of the block or
parcel of land mentioned in the Schedule hereto : And
whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the
Governor in Council should issue :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby consent to the confirmation of an alienation by way
of mortgage of the block or parcel of land set out in the
Schedule hereto. And it is hereby declared that this Order
in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of
the Native Land Act, 1909, and shall operate accordingly as
a consent of the Governor in Council to the proceedings
hereby authorized.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Scenic Reserve in
Block VIII, Heringa Survey District, Marlborough
Land District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for
scenic purposes, being a reserve within Class II of the
Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act,
1908, and such land has not been vested in trust in any
society, body corporate, or trustees :

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be
appropriated for a site for a public school, being a reserve
within Class III of the aforesaid Act :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the
said land shall, from and after the twenty-fifth day of July,
one thousand nine hundred and twelve, be appropriated
for a site for a public school under Class III of the Public
Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 ; and I do hereby direct
that this notification shall be published in the New Zea-
land Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, contain-
ing by admeasurement 3 acres, more or less, being Section
No. 21, Block VIII, Heringa Survey District, originally
part of Section No. 73, Block VIII, Heringa Survey
District. Bounded towards the north-west by a public road
1 chain wide, 641·6 links ; towards the north-east by part
Section No. 73, Block VIII, Heringa Survey District, 516·1
links ; towards the south-east by a public road 1 chain
wide, 334·2 links and 347·5 links ; and towards the south-
west by part 2 of Section No. 26, Block VIII, Heringa
Survey District, 372·1 links : be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less ; as the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. 5539/7, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and twelve.

Land temporarily reserved as a Site for a Public School
in Block XI, Maungaru Survey District, Auckland Land
District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first
section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Auckland
Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written,
as a site for a public school.
