during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-
five years (and the rate of interest to be paid to be £5
per centum per annum, together with an additional sum
of £1 per centum per annum with which to provide the
necessary sinking fund), or until the loan is fully paid off;
and it is the intention to pay out of the loan, if necessary,
the cost of raising same.
The above resolutions were duly passed at a meeting of
the Raglan County Council held at Ngaruawahia on the
12th day of June, 1912.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and
Inhabitants of the County of Raglan has hereunto been
affixed this 12th day of June, 1912, in the presence of—

THE following resolution, made by the Waimate
Borough Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
its amendment.

WAIMATE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Certified Copy of Resolution making a Special Rate.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and
the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and the
Public Health Act, 1908, the Waimate Borough Council
hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of pro-
viding the interest and other charges on a loan of £300,
being 10 per centum upon the original loan of £3,000,
authorized to be raised by the Waimate Borough Council,
under the above-mentioned Acts, for the construction of
drainage-works for a portion of the Borough of Waimate,
the said Waimate Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of 1/20 of a penny in the pound
sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property
of the Borough of Waimate; and that such special rate
shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of
April and the 1st day of October in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-
six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a
resolution of the Waimate Borough Council passed on the
11th day of June, 1912, and that the same was passed sub-
sequently to the confirmation of the special order authoriz-
ing the loan to which the above resolution relates.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Scotston Subdistrict Loan Area.—Resolution making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Local
Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and the New Zea-
land State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Waimairi
County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the
purpose of providing the interest at the rate of 3¾ per cen-
tum per annum, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan
of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Waimairi County
Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose
of concrete channelling, asphalting, and regrading the
roads and footpaths in a special area of the said Council’s
district hereinafter described, the said Waimairi County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 11/16
of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all
rateable property in that part of the Waimairi County
District, being Rural Sections 276, 302, parts 307, and
1048, in Block II, Christchurch Survey District, commenc-
ing at a point on the Papanui Road being the south-west
corner of Rural Section 276, thence northerly along the
Papanui Road to Grant’s Road, thence north-easterly
along Grant’s Road a distance of 2½ chains, thence south-
easterly by a line parallel to Papanui Road to the north-
west boundary of Rural Section 302, thence north-easterly
along the north-west boundary of Rural Section 302 to
the south-western boundary of Rural Section 1048, thence
south-easterly along the south-western boundary of Rural
Section 1048 to a point north-west of and 234 links distant
from May’s Road, thence north-easterly at a true bearing
of 56° 28′ a distance of 1060 links, thence south-easterly
at a true bearing of 145° 22′ a distance of 645½ links to
McFadden’s Road, thence south-westerly generally along
McFadden’s Road, Rutland Street, and May’s Road to
the starting-point; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and
the 1st day of September in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six
years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting
of the Waimairi County Council held on the 5th day of
June, 1912.

Borough of Waitara, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

WAITARA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Borough of Waitara taken on the 4th day of June,
1912, on the proposal of the Waitara Borough Council to
borrow the sum of £1,000 for construction of drainage and
sanitation works, the number of votes recorded for the
proposal was 49, and the number of votes recorded against
the proposal was 110.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of
the County of Waimate was taken on the 8th day of
June, 1912, on the proposal of the Waimate County
Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the purpose of
constructing bridge-works throughout the Waimate County.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 247.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 76.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
