THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Wanganui, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

Notice under Section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

I HEREBY publicly notify that at the poll taken on the 12th day of June, 1912, on the proposal of the Wanganui Borough Council to borrow the sum of £7,000 for the following purposes—that is to say, for the enlargement and completion of the reservoir now in course of construction at Westmere, and for any matter incidental thereto and to any works in connection with the Okehu Water-supply—the following votes were recorded :—

Borough Council Chambers. Keith Street. Wesleyan Methodist Schoolroom, Aramoho. Total.
For the proposal 393 72 63

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1908, I, Arthur Mielziner Myers, Minister of Railways; do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New Zealand Government railways open for traffic, such alterations to come into force on and after the 1st day of July, 1912.

PART I.—PASSENGERS.

EMU BAY LIGHT, TASMANIA.

THE iron skeleton tower of the Emu Bay light at the end of the Emu Bay Breakwater was recently carried away, and the light has since been exhibited from a temporary tower. Steps are being taken for the re-erection of the iron tower, but until this is completed masters of vessels are warned to use every caution in approaching the port at night-time in case of any accident happening to the temporary structure.
