REMUEA ROAD DISTRICT.

By-law to regulate the Speed of Motor-cars.

THE Remuera Road Board, in pursuance of the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, and of every other power thereunto enabling it, doth hereby make and ordain the following by-laws :—

  1. No person shall drive a motor-car upon any public highway or road in the Remuera Road District at a speed exceeding eighteen miles per hour.

  2. No person shall, when passing any stationary tram-car, drive a motor-car upon any public highway or road in the Remuera Road District at a speed exceeding five miles per hour.

  3. If any person commits a breach of these by-laws he shall be liable to a fine of an amount in the discretion of the Court inflicting the same, but in no case exceeding £5.

  4. These by-laws shall come into operation upon their being gazetted.

The foregoing by-laws were made by a resolution of the Remuera Road Board at a special meeting held on the 11th day of December, 1911, and confirmed as a special resolution at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on the 15th day of January, 1912.

The common seal of the Inhabitants of the Remuera Road District was affixed hereto at a meeting and by order of the Remuera Road Board on the 15th day of January, 1912, in the presence of—

Resolutions made by the Council of the Borough of Palmerston North.

THE following resolutions, made by the Palmerston North Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and amendments thereof, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £8,000, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act and its amendments, for public works under the heading of tarred crossings, £66; asphalting Square, £1,500; new footways (half-cost), £1,459; surface drainage, £4,134; bicycle-tracks, £310; and erecting street lamps, £90, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/10 of a penny in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Palmerston North District comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five years and nine months, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Palmerston North Borough Council held on the 16th day of January, 1912.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and amendments thereof, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £4,500, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act and its amendments, for sewer extensions, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/16 of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all the rateable property of the Palmerston North District comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five years and nine months, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Palmerston North Borough Council held on the 16th day of January, 1912.

Resolutions made by the Council of the County of Raglan.

THE following resolutions, made by the Raglan County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

RAGLAN COUNTY.

Resolutions authorizing Raisure of Loan of £3,000 over Wairamarama Special-rating District, and striking Special Rate over Wairamarama Special-rating District as Security for Loan of £3,000.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and amendments thereto, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

Resolution No. 1.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 15 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and by subsection (2) of section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Wairamarama Special-rating District, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said special-rating district, the capital values of whose properties as appearing on the valuation roll of the said district are collectively greater than the capital values of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of forming and metalling certain roads at Wairamarama, within the Wairamarama Special-rating District of the said county, the Raglan County Council hereby authorizes the raisure of a loan of £3,000, at a rate of interest (to cover both interest and redemption) not to exceed 5 per centum per annum, for a period of thirty-six years and a half, and declares that the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest on the loan shall be payable out of the moneys so raised.

Resolution No. 2.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and amendments thereto, for the purpose of forming and metalling certain roads at Wairamarama, within the Wairamarama Special-rating District of the said county, the Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Wairamarama Special-rating District. The boundaries of the said special-rating district are as follows: Commencing at the north-west corner of Section 40, Opuatia Special Settlement, thence along the northern and eastern boundaries of Sections 40 and 42 and the eastern boundary of Section 41 to the south-east corner of Section 37, thence along the southern boundary of Section 44 to the south-east boundary of same section, thence south along the western boundary of Section 51, thence east along the southern boundary of same section, thence south along the eastern boundary of Section 48 to the south-east boundary of same section, thence west along the southern boundaries
