Varied Notice (No. 2) exempting Combined Fancy-goods, Stationery, and Tobacconists' Shops from gazetted Closing-hours in the Borough of Waitara under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupants of all the combined fancy-goods, stationery, and tobacconists' shops in the Borough of Waitara has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops shall be exempted from closing in accordance with the varied notice gazetted on 15th February, 1912: And whereas the Waitara Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupants of all the combined fancy-goods, stationery, and tobacconists' shops within the Borough of Waitara:

Now, therefore, I, George Laurensen, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that, from and after the 27th day of May, 1912, all such shops in the Borough of Waitara shall be exempted accordingly.

Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of Hairdressers', and Hairdressers and Tobacconists' combined, Shops in the City of Dunedin under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupants of all the hairdressers', and hairdressers and tobacconists' combined, shops in the City of Dunedin, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the city shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 8 p.m., excepting in mid-winter Show Week and the evenings preceding each of the following holidays—Labour Day, King's Birthday, Show Day (November), Cup Day, and Anniversary Day—when the hour shall be 10 p.m.; and the evenings preceding Good Friday, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, and in the evening of Saturday, when the closing-hour shall be optional: And whereas the Dunedin City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupants of all the hairdressers', and hairdressers and tobacconists' combined, shops in the City of Dunedin:

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupants of all the tobacconists' shops in the City of Dunedin, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: At 8 o'clock p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, excepting in mid-winter Show Week and on the evening immediately preceding each of the following holidays—Labour Day, King's Birthday, Show Day, Cup Day, Anniversary Day—when the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m.; and on the evening immediately preceding Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Good Friday, when the hour for closing shall be optional: And whereas the Dunedin City Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupants of all the tobacconists' shops within the City of Dunedin:

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

Removal of Order forbidding Postal Correspondence for David Ross, Wellington, and Ross and Bradshaw, Wellington.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, being satisfied by statutory declaration that the person and firm whose names and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder will not in future commit any breach of the provisions of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, hereby rescinds the order made on the 4th day of May, 1912, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 9th day of May, 1912, forbidding that any postal packet addressed to the said person or to the said firm, or addressed to such address without a name, shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand, and orders that such postal packets shall be registered, forwarded, and delivered in the usual course.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following are the terms and conditions on which university bursaries, tenable at a university college or other institution recognized by the University of New Zealand, and entitling the holders to free university education, are, subject to the necessary annual appropriation by Parliament, to be awarded.

The notice regarding university bursaries, published under date 26th February, 1907, in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th March, 1907, is hereby cancelled.
