Fixing Date on which certain Returns under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, are to be furnished.

PURSUANT to section 22 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that the returns showing the total gross amount of the premiums received by or due to fire-insurance companies during the year ended 31st December, 1911, shall be transmitted to the Fire Boards concerned, in the manner prescribed by the said section, on or before the 31st day of May, 1912.

THE following special order, made by the Purimu Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

PURIMU ROAD BOARD.
By-laws.
At a special meeting of the Purimu Road Board held at The Lake Station on the 16th day of March, 1912, it was resolved that the following by-laws be adopted; and on the 15th day of April, 1912, such resolution was confirmed; and it was further resolved that the said by-laws come into force on being gazetted.
In pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in the Road Boards Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same, and of all other powers and provisions enabling it in this behalf, the Purimu Road Board doth hereby make and ordain the following by-laws, that is to say :—

Between the 1st day of September in any year and the 31st day of March in the following year (both days inclusive) a team of bullocks shall consist of not more than ten in any class of vehicle whatsoever, and between the 1st day of April and the 31st day of August in any year (both days inclusive) a team of bullocks shall consist of not more than four in any class of vehicle whatsoever; and the tires on bullock drays or wagons shall in no case be of a less width than four inches.

Between the 1st day of April and the 31st day of August in any year the width of tires and the maximum number of horses or bullocks to be used in the several classes of vehicles mentioned hereunder shall be as follows :—
(a.) A two-wheeled dray, with or without springs, with tires of four inches or more in width, to be drawn by not more than three horses or four bullocks.
(b.) A four-wheeled wagon, with or without springs, with tires of four inches or more in width, to be drawn by not more than four horses or four bullocks.
(c.) A four-wheeled goods brake or express, on steel springs or thorough-braces, with tires of three inches or more in width, to be drawn by not more than three horses.
(d.) A four-wheeled passenger coach, on steel springs or thorough-braces, with tires of two inches and a half or more in width, to be drawn by not more than five horses.
- Any person committing a breach of the above regulations will be subject to a penalty not exceeding £5 for every such offence.
The foregoing by-laws were made and passed by the Purimu Road Board under and by virtue of the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Public Works Act, 1908, and the several Acts amending the same respectively, and all other Acts and powers whatsoever enabling it in this behalf, by special order duly passed on the 16th day of March, 1912, and duly confirmed on the 15th day of April, 1912.
The common seal of the Purimu Road Board was hereto affixed this 15th day of April, 1912, in the presence of—

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Public Health Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same respectively, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
(a.) That whereas section 69 of the Public Health Act, 1908, provides that in any case where a sanitary-work to be constructed has been recommended by the District Health Officer, and approved by the Minister of Public
