Bringing certain Provisions of the Mining Act into Force within certain Parts of New Zealand.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of April, 1912.
Present: THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section two of the Mining Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time declare that any of the provisions of the Mining Act, 1908, shall apply to prospecting and mining for and the storage of petroleum and other mineral oils and of natural gas, and also define the districts within which any such Order in Council shall take effect:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the provisions of the Mining Act, 1908, set out in the First Schedule hereto shall apply to prospecting and mining for and the storage of petroleum and other mineral oils and of natural gas within the districts described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
THE Mining Act, 1908.-Part II : Section 11, subsection (a); sections 76 to 85, both inclusive, and section 165. Part V : Sections 261 to 276, both inclusive. Regulations under Mining Act, 1908.-Nos. 1, 33, 91, 102, 147 to 150, both inclusive.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District contained in the Survey Districts of Mangatu, Waingaromia, Mangatoro, and Weber. All that area in the Taranaki Land District, bounded towards the north generally by the Mokau River from the sea to the Tahumataroa Stream; thence by that stream to the eastern boundary of Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1H Block; thence towards the east by the said eastern boundary to the south-eastern boundary of the said Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1H Block; thence towards the south-east by a right line to the easternmost corner of the Town of Midhirst; thence towards the south-west by the said Town of Midhirst to its northernmost corner; thence by a right line to the mouth of the Pitone Stream; and thence towards the north-west by the sea to the mouth of the Mokau River, the place of commencement. All that area in the Wellington Land District contained in the Survey District of Mount Cerberus. All that area in the Westland Land District contained in the Survey Districts of Brunner, Waimea, Hohonu, and Arnold.

The Education Act, 1908.-Revocation of Regulations.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of April, 1912.
Present: THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations made under the Education Act, 1877, by Order in Council dated the fifth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, by revoking section nine thereof relating to scholarships; and, with the like advice and consent, doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Appointing Members of Assessment Courts under the Valuation of Land Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this first day of May, 1912.
Present: THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, the persons mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be members of the Assessment Court for the special districts set opposite the name of each respectively.

Authorizing the Sale of Land under the Public Works Act, 1908.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this first day of May, 1912.
Present: THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the thirtieth section of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed "the said Act"), it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise howsoever for any public work, is not required for such public work, the Governor may, by Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions set forth in the said Act:
And whereas a memorial has been laid before the Governor by the Huntly Road Board (hereinafter called "the said Board"), accompanied by a map setting forth that the pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto, which were purchased and acquired for a public pound and purchased in conjunction with other land acquired for the purposes of a road, are not now required by the said Board for those purposes, and the said Board desires to sell the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the conditions set forth in the said Act.
