Lots Nos. 2, 3, 4, and 5 are subject to Lease No. 3470, being license to cut and remove timber therefrom for the space of seven years from the 7th March, 1911.
ABSTRACT OF CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

Land to be leased by the Board under the provisions of Part XIV of the Native Land Act, 1909, and the regulations made thereunder, and all leases to conform to the requirements of the said Act and regulations.

Applicants to be twenty-one years of age and upwards.

Term of lease, twenty-one years, with the right of renewal for a further term of twenty-one years.

The rental shall not be less than the given upset annual rental for the first term of twenty-one years, and shall be not less than 5 per cent. on the then unimproved value for the second term of twenty-one years ; and in no case shall the rent for the second term be less than the rent for the first term.

Every tender shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the President, and marked on the outside as follows: “Tender for Lease of Lot No. , as advertised in the New Zealand Gazette of the day of , 1912.”

If any person desires to tender for more than one lot, a separate tender for each lot must be made.

Each tender must be accompanied by six months' rent at the rate tendered, together with lease fee of £3 3s., registration fee of 10s., and an amount sufficient to cover stamp duty.

Subject to the upset annual rental the highest qualified tenderer to be declared the lessee.

Successful applicants to sign agreements to lease after being notified of acceptance of tender.

Lessee to make necessary declaration and execute lease within thirty days after signing agreement to lease.

In case of default, deposit may be forfeited and lots re-leased.

Including all other land already owned, held, or occupied, no person may hold more than 3,000 acres as computed by the Native Land Act, 1909.

Rent to be paid in advance on the 1st days of January and July.
-
Transfer not allowed until after one year of continuous residence.
-
Lessee to pay all rates, taxes, and assessments.
-
Lessee has no right to timber or minerals without license.
-
On expiry of lease, lessee's improvements will be valued and protected.

Title being Land Transfer, no objection to be taken.
-
Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.
-
Lots to be taken as correctly described.
INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS.
Tenders must be sent to the office of the Tairawhiti District Maori Land Board, at Gisborne, and must be on the proper forms, to be obtained at the office of the said Board.
Full particulars may be obtained on application at the office of the said Board at Gisborne.
