EDEN TERRACE ROAD BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll on a Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Eden Terrace Road District was taken on the 27th day of April, 1912, on the proposal of the Eden Terrace Road Board to borrow the sum of £17,000 for—

(a.) Formation, metalling, channelling, and kerbing (and acquiring certain portions of land for widening parts of New North Road) the following streets and roads within the Eden Terrace Road District—viz., New North Road, Victoria and Power Avenues, Eden, Copeland, Suffolk, Devon, Evelyn, Ethel, Minnie, Rawlings, Charlotte, Sussex, Exmouth, Violet, Shaddock, Summer, Flower, Rose, Greenwood, Haultain, Fenton, Brown, Haslett Streets, Rendel Place, and Aitken Terrace, extension of existing water-mains, contingencies, engineering, interest, &c.

(b.) Street-formation, &c., £13,478; water-mains extension, £331; contingencies, &c., £3,191.

(c.) The proposed security is a special rate of 1d. in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Eden Terrace Road District, for a period of thirty-six years and a half, covering interest and sinking fund; payable half-yearly, the term of the proposed loan being for thirty-six years and a half.

(d.) It is proposed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising same, together with the first year’s interest on the full amount of loan.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 136, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 124.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
