COMMENCING at a point on the existing railway between Napier and Port Ahuriri marked minus 20 chains, distant about 85 chains from Napier Railway-station, in Block IV, Heretaunga Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly and a northerly direction for a distance of about 11 miles 54 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Harbour Board Reserve, Section 85, Township of Westshore, Western Spit; Crown land, Sections 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, and 107, Township of Westshore, Western Spit, all in Block IV, Heretaunga Survey District; Crown land in Block IV, Heretaunga Survey District, and Block XVI, Puketapu Survey District; Beacon Reserve and Crown land in Block XVI, Puketapu Survey District; Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of Te Pahou Block shown on deposited plan 2283, Lots 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, and 12 of Westshore Extension No. 1 (part of Te Pahou Block), Lots 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, and 13 of Westshore Extension No. 2 (part of Te Pahou Block), Lots 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 50, 31, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, and 33 of Te Pahou Block shown on deposited plan 2283, all in Blocks XVI and XII, Puketapu Survey District; Lots 7 and 18 of Te Pahou Block shown on deposited plan 1856, Lots 3 and 1 of Te Pahou Block shown on deposited plan 2086, Lots 20, 4, 3, and 2 of Te Pahou Block shown on deposited plan 1856, Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4 of Eskdale Crown-grant District, all in Block XII, Puketapu Survey District; Blocks 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of Eskdale Crown-grant District, all in Block XI, Puketapu Survey District; Block 92, Puketapu Crown-grant District, in Block XI, Puketapu Survey District, and terminating at a point marked 11 miles 34 chains, situated on the southern boundary of Block X, Eskdale Crown-grant District, distant about 21 chains from the south-western corner thereof in Block XI, Puketapu Survey District: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31438, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Midland Railway—namely, Letter-box Section.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS an extension of the Midland Railway from a point about ten miles forty chains from Tadmor up the Tadmor Valley to the junction of the Hope and Buller Rivers (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1908: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same (Letter-box Section):
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point near the southern boundary of Section 30, Block III, Hope Survey District, near Glenhope Station, marked 59 miles 15 chains, which point is also the termination of the railway, as defined in a Proclamation dated the 18th day of December, 1908, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 23rd day of December, 1908; proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction generally for a distance of 4 miles 20 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands—viz., Section 30, Block III, Hope Survey District; scenic reserve, Block VII, scenic reserve, Section 4, Block VI, Section 2, public utility reserve, Block X, Hope Survey District; and terminating at a point marked 63 miles 35 chains on a public road adjoining Section 2, Block X, Hope Survey District, and bounded by the Buller River: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Nelson: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31601, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

WHEREAS a portion of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway from Gisborne southwards for a distance of twenty-six miles (hereinafter termed “the said railway”) is a railway the construction of which was authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1910: And whereas it has been determined to construct and maintain the further portion of the said railway described in the Schedule hereto:

COMMENCING at a point on the left bank of the Waipaoa River, in the Oariki Block, Block I, Turanganui Survey District, marked 2 miles 32 chains, which point is also the termination of the railway described in a Proclamation dated the 12th day of March, 1912, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 24, of the 14th day of March, 1912; proceeding thence in a south-westerly and westerly direction generally for a distance of about 3 miles 48 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands: viz., Section 78, Block I, Turanganui Survey District; Sections 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, and 21, Patutahi Township; Sections 73 and 70, Block I, Turanganui Survey District; Section 68, Lots 1 and 2 of Section 67, Sections 66, 65, 64, 63A, 77, and 78, and Subdivision 4 of Repongaere A Block, Block IV, Patutahi Survey District; and terminating at a point in the said Lot 4 of Repongaere A Block marked 6 miles: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31611, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
