Declaring Roads and Portion of Road in the Tongio Settlement, Wairoa County, to be County Roads.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of March, 1912.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, BART.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the roads and portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county roads.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Tongio Settlement, Wairoa County, Hawke’s Bay Land District, known as Kotomako Road, commencing at its junction with the Napier-Wairoa main road on the southern boundary of Section 7, Block I, Tongio Survey District, and proceeding thence in north-easterly and north-westerly directions generally through or adjoining Sections 7, 8, 5, 9, 4, 3, 11, and 10, Block I, Tongio Survey District, and Section 4 and Purahotangihia Block, Block IV, Puketapu Survey District, to its junction with the said Napier-Wairoa Road near the northernmost corner of the said Purahotangihia Block, being a distance of 7 miles 79 chains, more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said settlement, county, and land district, known as the Whakaari Road, commencing at its junction with the Napier-Wairoa Road in Section 6, Block I, Tongio Survey District, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction generally through the said Section 6 to its junction with the south-western boundary of Section 12, Block I, Tongio Survey District, being a distance of 77 chains.

Also all that road in the said settlement, county, and land district, known as the Waipatiki Road, commencing at its junction with the Kotomako Road on the south-western boundary of Section 11, Block I, Tongio Survey District, and proceeding thence in an easterly and then northerly direction generally through Section 11, and forming part of the boundary between Sections 11 and 3 to the crossing of the Waipatiki Stream, being a distance of 3 miles 3 chains, more or less.

As the said roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31391, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured blue.

Declaring Waimarama Block Roads in the Hawke’s Bay County to be County Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of road in the Waimarama Block, Hawke’s Bay Land District, Hawke’s Bay County, known as the Maraetotara Road, commencing at a point near the first crossing of Maraetotara Stream between Sections 4 and 5, Block XVI, Te Mata Survey District, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly and easterly direction to its junction with Waimarama-Te Apiti Road in Block IV, Oero Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 10 chains, more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said block, land district, and county, known as Waimarama-Te Apiti Road, commencing at its junction with Maraetotara Road in Block IV, Oero Survey District, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction to a point near the northern boundary of Section 4, Block IV, Oero Survey District, being a distance of 2 miles 2 chains, more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said block, land district, and county, known as the Waingongoro Road, commencing at its junction with Waimarama-Te Apiti and Maraetotara Roads in Block IV, Oero Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction to its junction with the Waimarama-Hastings main road in Block X, Kidnapper Survey District, being a distance of 5 miles 13 chains, more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said block, land district, and county, known as Tawa Road, commencing at its junction with Waimarama-Te Apiti Road in Block IV, Oero Survey District, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction to a point on the eastern boundary of Sections 2 and 3, Block IV, Oero Survey District, being a distance of 69 chains, more or less.

Also all that portion of road in the said block, land district, and county, known as Whatman Road, commencing at its junction with Waingongoro Road in Block IX, Kidnapper Survey District, and proceeding thence in a northerly direction to a point near the southern boundary of Section 3, Block IX, Kidnapper Survey District, being a distance of 26 chains, more or less.

Also all that road in the said block, land district, and county, known as Access Road, commencing at its junction with Waimarama-Hastings main road, and proceeding thence in a westerly direction to a point on the eastern boundary of Section 5, Block IX, Kidnapper Survey District, being a distance of 30 chains, more or less.

As the said roads and portions of roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31223, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured sienna and marked 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 respectively.
