Notice of Resolution recommending Withdrawal of Land from the Operations of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor in Council, acting under the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section 33 of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and section 9 of the Kauri-gum Industry Amendment Act, 1910, that a resolution has been passed by the Auckland Land Board certifying that to the best of their knowledge and belief the portion of Otaika Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2 described in the Schedule hereto is no longer required for the purpose of gum-digging, and recommending the Governor to issue an Order in Council declaring the said areas to be no longer subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908. Any objection to this proposal must be sent to His Excellency the Governor within two months from the date hereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being part of Otaika Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, situated in Block IV, Tangihua Survey District, set apart by Order in Council dated 25th September, 1899, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of 28th September, 1899, page 1837. Bounded towards the north-east by the Otaika Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2, 294'6 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 88'4 and 551'1 links; and towards the south-west and north-west by the Otaika Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2 aforesaid, 324'1 and 694'4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1911/1679, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. Pastoral Runs in Westland Land District classified.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners appointed to classify and report upon pastoral runs in Westland Land District have reported to His Excellency the Governor that the runs enumerated in the Schedule hereto have been classified by them as therein noted.

SCHEDULE.

Class A.

Pastoral Lands.

Being Lands suitable exclusively for Pasturage and not capable of being used with Profit in Areas of a Carrying-capacity of less than 5,000 Sheep.

RUN 82, Mount French Range.-All that parcel of land in the Westland Land District, containing by estimation 14,200 acres, being 3,450 acres of national endowment land and 10,750 acres of Crown land, situated in Hohonu and Turikwhate Survey Districts, and bounded as follows: Starting at a point on the northern boundary of Run No. 3 about a mile to the north-east of Mount Smart, and running thence generally eastward about a mile and a half and crossing the gorge of the Big Hohonu at a point about 90 chains west of Ben Claddagh; thence proceeding generally northward flanking the spurs about 50 chains west of Mount French, crossing the head of the main branch of the Big Hohonu passing through the saddle northward of same, running thence northward about 60 chains and north-easterly 40 chains across the high sunny faces of the Big and Little Hohonu up to the south-east corner of Section 2486; thence by the eastern side of said section, by the south side of Lake Brunner Road, by Sections 2082, 2487, 3172, and 857, the abutment of a road 100 links wide along the eastern side of said sections; thence in a north-east direction by the eastern side of said road for about 600 links; thence in an easterly direction for about 4200 links by Scenic Reserve No. 1447 up to the north-west corner of Section 870; thence by the western side of Sections 870, 2040, 869, and 2064, and by the northern sides of Sections 2397, 2398, and Scenic Reserve 919 to the eastern boundary of Run No. 3; thence by the eastern and northern boundary of said run to the starting-point aforesaid: reserving always all mining and other rights and privileges within or adjacent to the above area.

Run 633, Perth River.-All that parcel of land in the Westland Land District, containing by estimation 31,560 acres of Crown land, situated in Waitangi-taona and Tyndall Survey Districts, and bounded as follows: Starting at Cumine Peak on the main dividing-range; thence running generally eastwards down a branch of Scope Creek to its confluence with the Perth River; thence down midstream of said river to its confluence with Wataroa River; thence by midstream of latter river upwards to a point about three miles below Whympen Glacier, there taking the main branch southwards and eastwards towards Mount Huss on the main dividing-range, and following said range generally north-eastwards to Cumine Peak, the starting-point: saving and excepting all mining and other rights and privileges.

Class B.

Pastoral-agricultural Lands.

Being Lands adapted in Part for Pasturage and in Part for Agricultural Purposes, but suitable for Subdivision in Areas not exceeding 5,000 Acres.

Run No. 29, Taramakau River.-All that parcel of land in the Westland Land District, containing by estimation 1,900 acres, being 1,500 acres of national endowment land and 400 acres of Crown land, situated in the Waimea Survey District, and bounded as follows: Starting on the south side of Cameron's Road at angle 25, running thence bearing 240° for 60 chains to the midstream of Taramakau River; thence by said midstream upwards a distance of about 90 chains; thence bearing about 60° running inland across Cape Terrace Road; a distance of 150 chains, to a point between Stillwater and Fireball Creeks; thence bearing about 330° running about 100 chains to the south side of Cameron's Road at angle 44; thence in a general westerly direction along the south side of said crossing, Cape Terrace Road, up to said angle 25, the starting-point: saving and excepting always Cape Terrace Road intersecting said area, and reserving always all mining and other rights and privileges within or adjacent to the said area.

Run No. 43, Makawhio River.-All that parcel of land in the Westland Land District, containing by estimation 9,900 acres, being 6,070 acres of national endowment land and 3,830 acres of Crown land, situated in Bruce Bay Survey District, and bounded as follows: Starting at the north-west corner of Section 877, and running thence generally south-easterly bounded by Sections 877, Reserve 333, and Section 2198, and the prolongation of the south-west boundary of said section across the road reserve to the left bank of the Makawhio River; thence by the southern boundary of Miscellaneous Lease No. 750 to midstream of said river; thence by said midstream downwards along the eastern boundary of said lease to its north-east corner; thence westwards along northern boundary of said lease to the left bank of said river; thence downwards by said left bank to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 890; thence in line of said eastern boundary directly across said river to its right bank, and so continuing directly by abutment with a road reserve bounding said right bank to the south-east corner of aforesaid section, and thereafter proceeding for 25 chains along said eastern boundary and turning generally south-easterly and proceeding by the watershed of the Makawhio and Manakaiaua Rivers along the boundary of Run 26 to the boundary of Run 117; and thence by the western boundary of said run to Run 119 at Mount Jacob; and thence by the northern boundary of last-named run to Run 19; thence by the boundary of the last-named run in a general north-west direction to the eastern side of the main South Road; and thence by said eastern side to the north-west corner of Section 877 aforesaid, the starting-point: reserving always all mining and other rights and privileges within or adjacent to the said area.

Run No. 96, Okuru and Waiatoto Rivers.-All that parcel of land in the Westland Land District, containing by estimation 4,882 acres of Crown land, situated in the Arawata, Okuru, and Turnbull Districts, and bounded as follows: Starting at Trig. SS, and running thence about W.S.W. along the boundary of Run 24 for about 100 chains to the right bank of the Waiatoto River; thence down said right bank, a distance of about 50 chains, to the south-east side of the road which is on the south-east side of Sections 406, 405, and 404; and thence along the south-east side of said road to a point in line with the northern boundary of the last-named section; thence in a straight line, bearing about 55°, a distance of about 388 chains, to the south-east corner
