North Borough for raising special loans of £8,000 and £4,550
respectively, particulars of which proposals have been duly
advertised in a newspaper circulating in the said borough,
and that the votes recorded respectively for and against the
said proposals were as follows :—
To carry out certain public works under the heading of
“ tarred crossings,” £66 ; asphalting Square, £1,500 ;
new footways (half cost), £1,459 ; surface drainage,
£4,134 ; bicycle-tracks, £310 ; erecting street-lamps,
£90 : For, 292 ; against, 273.
To provide sewerage extensions : For, 307 ; against, 257.
As in respect of both the above proposals the number of
votes recorded in favour exceeded the number of votes re-
corded against the same, we hereby declare the said proposals
carried.

WOODVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1908, and amendments, I hereby give notice that a
poll of the ratepayers of the special-rating district was taken
on Tuesday, the 19th day of December, 1911, on the pro-
posal of the Woodville Borough Council to borrow the sum
of £4,000 for the purpose of advancing to owners of properties
within the drainage-area of the borough the cost of making
house-connections with the sewerage system of the borough,
and of supplying the necessary fittings for the same.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 56,
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3,
and the number of informal votes recorded was 3.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

KARAKA ROAD BOARD.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of
the Karaka Road District was taken on the 22nd day of
December, 1911, on the proposal of the Karaka Road
Board to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of
making a new road to Paerata Station, forming and metal-
ling road, and repairing bridges in the Karaka Road
District.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 72.
‘The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

TAIHAPE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Special Loan of £4,000.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give public notice that a poll of the rate-
payers of the Taihape Water-supply Special-rating District
was taken on the 8th day of January, 1912, on the pro-
posal of the Taihape Borough Council to borrow the sum
of £4,000 for the purpose of completing the water-supply
special-rating district, when the number of valid votes re-
corded for the proposal was 6, while the number of valid
votes recorded against the proposal was 3.
As the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal
exceeds the number of valid votes recorded against the
proposal, I therefore declare the proposal to be duly
carried.
