Lands in the Southland Land District withdrawn from State Forests.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto are State forests under the control of the Commissioner of State Forests appointed under the State Forests Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and the said lands are now no longer required for State-forest purposes: And whereas plans showing the extent and position of the said lands, and a statement of the reasons why they are no longer required for State-forest purposes, have been laid before both Houses of Parliament for a period of thirty days, and no resolution has been passed by either of such Houses objecting to the issue of this Proclamation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twenty-eight of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Proclamation specified in Part II of the Schedule hereto, so far as it relates to the lands described in Part I of the said Schedule, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette; and doth hereby proclaim and declare that from and after such date the parcels of land described in Part I of the Schedule hereto shall be no longer subject to the provisions of the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

PART I.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 1,350 acres, situated in Block LIII, Hokonui Survey District, commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 652 in the said district. Bounded towards the north by Section 431 in the said district; towards the east generally by the abuttal of a public road, by Section 661, the abuttal of a public road, Section 210, the abuttal of a public road, Sections 662, 332, the abuttal of a public road, and again by said Section 332 to the north-east corner of Section 811; towards the south by the last-mentioned section, the abuttal of a public road, and by Section 810 to the south-east corner of Section 364; towards the west generally and again towards the south by the last-mentioned section to the north-east corner of Section 211; again towards the west by Section 432; and towards the north-west generally by Section 709, the abuttal of a public road, and Section 652 aforesaid to the commencing-point.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 180 acres, situated in Block LXI, Hokonui Survey District, being the forest land within Section 817.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 110 acres, situated in Block LIV, Hokonui Survey District, being the forest land within Section 800.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 114 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less, situated in Block XXVI, Hokonui Survey District, being Section 894.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 36 acres, more or less, situated in Block XXVI, Hokonui Survey District, being Section 897.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 960 acres, situated in Blocks XVIII and XXV, Hokonui Survey District, commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 608 in the said district. Bounded towards the north by Section 21; towards the east, again towards the north and towards the west by Section 13 and the abuttal of a public road; again towards the north by Section 849; again towards the east generally by Section 19, and the abuttals of three public roads, to the north-eastern corner of Section 794; towards the south generally by the last-mentioned section to the south-eastern corner of Section 793; again towards the west and south generally by the last-mentioned section, the abuttals of three public roads, and by Section 485 to its north-western corner; again towards the west by Section 579, the abuttal of a public road, and Section 580; towards the north-west by said Section 580, the abuttal of a public road, and by Section 608 aforesaid to the commencing-point.

As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. 1911/975A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 450 acres, situated in Block LXIX, Hokonui Survey District, commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 423. Bounded towards the north-west by that section to the north-western corner of Section 885; towards the north-east and east by said Section 885 to the north-eastern corner of Section 900; towards the south-east by the last-mentioned section and Section 901, a public road, and Section 903 for a distance of 5650 links or thereabouts; towards the south-west by lines bearing respectively 301° 43′, 2250 links, and 318° 29′, 5450 links, or thereabouts; again towards the north-west by a line bearing 48° 29′, till it strikes the south-western boundary of Section 423 aforesaid; and again towards the north-east by the last-mentioned section to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid bearing and linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1911/975B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 270 acres, situated in Block III, Longwood Survey District, commencing at the north-eastern corner of Sawmill Area 428. Bounded towards the north by the northern boundary of that area and that boundary produced westwards to the present State-forest boundary, towards the west and south-west by the present State-forest boundary to the south-western corner of said Sawmill Area 428, towards the south by the southern boundary of said Area 428, and towards the east by the eastern boundary of said Area 428.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 500 acres, situated in Block III, Longwood Survey District, commencing at a point on the northern boundary of said Block III in line with the western boundary of Sawmill Area 510. Bounded towards the east by a line due south till it strikes the present State-forest boundary, towards the south by a line due west to the western boundary of said Block III, towards the west by a line due north to the northern boundary of said Block III, and towards the north by a line due east to the commencing-point.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 1,200 acres, situated in Block XII, Longwood Survey District, commencing at the north-eastern corner of Sawmill Area 488. Bounded towards the west and south-west by the present State-forest boundary to the northern boundary of Block XII aforesaid, towards the north by the last-mentioned boundary to a climatic reserve, towards the north-east by that reserve to a point in line with the northern boundary-line of said Area 488, and towards the south by a line due west to the commencing-point.

As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. 1911/975C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing approximately 800 acres, situated in Block X, Longwood Survey District, and Blocks XVII and XIX, Jacob’s River Hundred, commencing at the south-western corner of Sawmill Area 504 extended. Bounded towards the west by the western boundary of that area to a point in line with the northern boundary of Sawmill Area 444, towards the north by a line due east to the north-eastern corner of said Area 444, again towards the west by a line due north to the north-western corner of Sawmill Area 490, again towards the north by a line due east to
