Vesting a Reserve in the Kaponga Town Board.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of December, 1911.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, BART.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a site for a town hall and other public buildings for the Town of Kaponga: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Kaponga Town Board:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Kaponga Town Board, in trust, as a site for a town hall and other public buildings for the Town of Kaponga.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Section No. 28, Village of Kaponga, Block XI, Kaupokonui Survey District. Bounded towards the north by the Eltham Road, 229 links; towards the east by Section No. 29, Block XI, Kaupokonui Survey District, 437 links; towards the south by Section No. 37, Block XI aforesaid, 229 links; and towards the west by Section No. 27, Block XI aforesaid, 437 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1911/1493, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Vesting a Reserve in the Ashley Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of December, 1911.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for a site for a bridge over the River Okuku and for protective works in connection therewith: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Corporation of the Ashley Road District:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Corporation of the Ashley Road District, in trust, as a reserve for a site for a bridge over the River Okuku and for protective works in connection therewith.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 49 acres and 32 perches, more or less, being Reserve 2415, situated in Block IV, Mairaki Survey District. Bounded towards the south by a line in continuation of the south side of the road forming the northern boundaries of Rural Sections 20783 and 33034, towards the west by the right bank of the River Okuku, towards the north by a line parallel to and 20 chains distant from the southern boundary, and towards the east by the left bank of the River Okuku; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1911/1598, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

License authorizing the Eltham Co-operative Dairy Factory Company (Limited) to erect an Electric Line across Conway Road, in the Borough of Eltham.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of January, 1912.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that no person shall lay, construct, put up, place, or use any electric line except under the authority of a license issued to him by the Governor in Council under that Act: And whereas the Eltham Co-operative Dairy Factory Company (Limited) (hereinafter referred to as “the said company”) desires to erect an electric line across Conway Road, in the Borough of Eltham, and the Eltham Borough Council has consented to the erection of such a line, and it is expedient accordingly to issue a license in respect thereof under the said section:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said section and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth, subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, hereby authorize the Eltham Co-operative Dairy Factory Company (Limited) to erect and maintain an electric line for lighting and power purposes across the street in the Borough of Eltham known as the Conway Road, as indicated by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 30849, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

SCHEDULE.

CONDITIONS.

  1. The electric line to which this license relates shall consist of two conductors with a difference of electrical pressure not exceeding 250 volts between the conductors or between either conductor and earth.

  2. The conductors shall consist of bare hard-drawn stranded copper-wire, not less than No. 7/16 standard wire-gauge in size. The conductors shall be insulated by means of substantial porcelain insulators.

  3. The conductors shall be carried on substantial supports, which shall be designed to have a factor of safety of 5 under a wind-pressure of 40 lb. per square foot.

  4. Where the conductors cross Conway Road supports shall be placed immediately on each side of the road, and shall be of sufficient height to give a minimum clearance of 20 ft. between the road-surface and the said conductors.

  5. Where the conductors cross telegraph or telephone wires, or if any telegraph or telephone wire is hereafter installed so as to cross the conductors, substantial guard wires shall be erected by or at the cost of the said company. Such guard wires shall consist of two stranded galvanized-steel wires carried on substantial supports at a height of 2 ft. above the conductors if the telegraph or telephone wires pass over the conductors, or 2 ft. above the telegraph or telephones wires if they pass under the conductors.

  6. The construction of the works hereby authorized shall be substantially commenced on or before the 1st day of June, 1912, and shall be completed on or before the 1st day of March, 1913.

  7. The said company shall, prior to the completion of the said works, give to the Minister of Public Works (hereinafter referred to as “the Minister”) at least one month’s notice in writing of the estimated date of such completion.

  8. The said company shall not use the said electric line, or permit the same to be used, for any purpose until the Minister has given notice in writing to the company that he has received from the engineer appointed by him to inspect the works a certificate that they have been satisfactorily carried out.

  9. This license, and the benefits and obligations hereunder, shall not be assigned by the said company without the express consent in writing of the Minister first had and obtained; but such consent shall not be withheld if it is proved to the satisfaction of the Minister that the transferee is financially and otherwise able to carry out the obligations specified in this license.

  10. If the said company fails to comply with any of the conditions of this license the Minister may, by notice in writing, require the company, within thirty days, to
