OTATAU RIVER BOARD.
At the monthly meeting of the Otatau River Board, duly convened, held on Monday, 6th November, 1911, the following resolution was passed :—
Moved by Mr. Salton, seconded by Mr. Ross, That, as the special order making special rate, adopted on 3rd April, 1911, and confirmed on 1st May, 1911, was not advertised in accordance with the provisions of section 60 of the River Boards Act, 1908, it is now resolved, in accordance with the provisions of section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, as follows : That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorized to be raised by the Otatau River Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for river-protective works on the Aparima River, in the vicinity of the Cabbage Tree Ford, also to pay the cost of the engineer’s services in preparing plans and specifications, the costs incidental to raising the loan, and the first year’s interest, the said Otatau River Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/20 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable value of the property in the Otatau River District as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of 29th September, 1886 ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off, as provided by the provisions of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909.

KAPONGA TOWN BOARD.
Resolution of the Kaponga Town Board at a Special Meeting held Tuesday, 3rd October, 1911.
Moved by the Chairman, Councillor A. H. Guy, seconded by Councillor Geo. Death, and carried unanimously :—
Resolved, That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Kaponga Town Board hereby resolves as follows : That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the Kaponga Town Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the construction of water and drainage works within the Kaponga Town District, the said Kaponga Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. and 5/12 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Kaponga Town District ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Extract from the Minutes of Proceedings of the Hawera County Council at an Ordinary Meeting of such County Council held at the County Office, Hawera, on the 4th Day of November, 1911.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—PRINCES STREET EXTENSION LOAN, £350.
Moved by Councillor Goodland, In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same, the Hawera County Council hereby resolves as follows : That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £350, authorized to be raised by the Hawera County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, and the amendments thereof, for the purpose of the construction of Princes Street Extension in the Hawera Riding of the Hawera County—that is to say, from the main South Road to the Manawapou Road—the said Hawera County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. and 1/16 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the special-rating area, comprising Subdivisions 7, parts 8, 9, 10, 11, 19, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 41, 44, 48, 49, 51, 53, 55, and 57, all of Section 190, Block 9, Hawera ; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 5th day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.—Seconded by Councillor Murdoch, and carried.
We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of, and a correct extract from, the minutes of proceedings of the Hawera County Council at the meeting above mentioned.
