under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling about 55 chains of road from the Raukura School to the Rangitikei boundary, Awarua District 3D No. 3, the said Upper Wangaehu Road Board makes and levies a special rate of 9/16 of a penny in the pound upon all rateable value of all rateable property of the Orakura Special-rating District, comprising all that portion of the district extending from a point on the south of Section 15, and thence to a point on the west of Section 2, extending thence to the north of the same, thence to the north-west of Section 3, then on a line back on the north-east of Section 12, thence extending south-east to a point on Section 5; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 10th day of January and the 10th day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed at a meeting held on the 13th of December, 1910, in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908.

Special Order made by the Cook County Council altering Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
A Special Order made by the Cook County Council on the 18th August, 1911, and confirmed at a Subsequent Meeting of the Council on the 22nd September, 1911.
RESOLVED, That the Tolaga Riding be abolished, and that two new ridings be constituted, viz. :—
(1.) The Tolaga Riding, as defined in the Schedule hereto; and
(2.) The Pakarae Riding, as defined in the Schedule hereto.
Resolved, That the Pakarae Riding be represented in the Council by one member. That the Tolaga Riding as now constituted be represented in the Council by two members.
SCHEDULE.
Boundaries of Tolaga Riding.
All that area in Cook County bounded towards the north generally by Waiapu County from the northern boundary of Waikohu County to the sea at Koangaumu; thence towards the east generally by the sea to the Pakarae No. 1 Block; thence by the north-east boundary of the said block to the Pakarae River; thence towards the west generally by the said river to Section 2 of Block XIII, Uawa Survey District; thence by the north-western boundary of the said section to Waimata North No. 1 Block; thence by the northern boundary of the said block, Small Grazing-run No. 58, Waimata No. 1A No. 2, and again by Small Grazing-run No. 58 to the road at the north-west corner of the said small grazing-run; and thence by Waikohu County to the place of commencement.
Boundaries of Pakarae Riding.
All that area in Cook County, commencing at the north-east corner of Section No. 1 of Block XIII, Uawa Survey District, bounded towards the north and east generally by the Pakarae River to the Pakarae No. 1 Block, and by the northern boundary of the said block to the sea; thence towards the south-east by the sea to the mouth of the Pouawa Stream; thence towards the south-west generally by the said Pouawa Stream to the eastern boundary of Waimata South No. 2 Block; thence by that block, Waimata East No. 3 Block, Waimata East Block, Section No. 1 of the last-mentioned block, and Waiomoko Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks to the Otawaiwai Stream; thence by that stream to the eastern boundary of Waimata North No. 1 Block; thence by the last-mentioned block and Section No. 1 of Block XIII, Uawa Survey District, to the Pakarae River, the place of commencement.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order authorizing the raising of a Loan of £5,500.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and any other Act enabling it in that behalf, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, in order to meet the capital expenditure requisitioned by the Cook Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for building a new hospital (in instalments, £1,960 at the present time, £1,960 in twelve months, and £1,580 in two years), the Gisborne Borough Council hereby decides to raise a special loan of £5,500 from the Government, under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for a term of thirty-six years and a half, at the rate of interest of 3½ per centum per annum, the first year’s interest to be paid out of the loan.
Passed at a special meeting of the said Gisborne Borough Council on the 5th September, 1911, and confirmed at a properly constituted meeting of the said Council held on the 3rd October, 1911.
We hereby certify that the above special order has been duly made. In witness whereof the seal of the said Council has been hereunto affixed this 4th day of October, 1911.

Special Order making Special Rate of 1/16 of a Penny in the Pound.—Gisborne Borough Loan of £5,500 for New Hospital.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and any other Act enabling it in that behalf, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £5,500, authorized to be raised by the said Gisborne Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following purposes—namely, to meet the capital expenditure requisitioned by the Cook Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for building a new hospital (in instalments, £1,960 at the present time, £1,960 in twelve months, and £1,580 in two years)—the Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/16 of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property within the whole of the Borough of Gisborne, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 48, of the 9th June, 1904, folio 1490; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of June and the 31st day of December in each year during such currency, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Passed at a special meeting of the said Gisborne Borough Council on the 5th September, 1911, and confirmed at a properly constituted meeting of the said Council held on the 3rd October, 1911.
